Gorny
Was going to just post a list of my favourite players from the 90s, but thought what if you had to choose one player only from each year? If they can only be chosen for the year they made their debut, it makes interesting reading (Hirst, Sheridan, Palmer & Nilsson were all signed prior to 1990)... 90: Wilson 91: Anderson 92: Waddle 93: Walker 94: Whittingham 95: Degryse 96: Carbone 97: Di Canio 98: Thome 99: Sibon Thoughts? Disagree with my choices? Have I missed anyone?

Very much the modern ideal really.
NHOwl
Who on earth would get in a hall of fame post 2000?!!!
Gorny
Started trying to do 2000 onwards year by year, had to stop because it was too depressing... So, here's my list of our best players since 2000 (several signed in the same year!): Brunt, Bullen, Whelan, Maclean, Tudgay, JJ, Buxton, Semedo, Westwood... Whatever happens, the next 15 years can't be as bad as the last 15 years!
Gorny
Agree with Lord Snooty about Degryse... Not sure he was fully appreciated at the time, shame he didn't stay longer!

steelcityowlsfan
Good thread. IMO I would select the following players: Springett Woods Pressman Robinson Nilsson Megson (Don) Swan Walker Pearson Worthington Palmer (Carlton) Sheridan Waddle Di Canio Carbone Hirst Bright Warhurst Dooley Fantham Quixall Craig Ford McCalliog Brunt Whelan Ford Sure there are more worthy but just my quick selection
