  1. Overall, I am feeling completely disinterested in it. Agree that this is the worst feeling. I have started missing games even though I have a season ticket... As for Carlos, he's obviously not going to resign. Just how crap do we have to get before DC steps in? We've been through some tough times over the past 17 years but Carlos is now arguably doing a worse job than ANY of the other managers in that time. We have an excellent squad and he simply can't get the best out of them. We're so far off the pace, I'm starting to worry that other managers wouldn't be interested. If he goes now, a new manager could have a few games before the transfer window opens...
  2. Yes. It has been so disappointing it's unreal. Made worse because the Grunters are doing so well... if we we got rid of CC, then I'd have more confidence l but I don't see that happening. Surely we can't get any worse?!
  3. Whoop whoop! I would like to use this special moment as an opportunity to thank my family, my friends and of course, my adoring fans. This is for you guys! WAWAW
  4. So I came last... Thought I'd done ok too! (1st timer). Still, great quiz!
  5. I don't want to lose any of them at the moment but I understand that players do move on, so in order of how gutted I'd be: 1. Lee 2. Lees 3. FF All players, even at the top clubs, are replaceable - but those 3 would be the hardest to replace IMO...
  6. I think we're starting to see why CC brought Jones to the club. At first, I thought he was a bit of a pointless signing - just to make up the numbers. He was brilliant yesterday - reading the game superbly, breaking up the play and distributing the ball exceptionally well. Without being a strong tackler, he's made us much stronger. Very good player...
  7. If that's how well Jimmy reads a game, he'll be out of a job very soon!
  8. Very interesting thread... I have complained about Newcastle & Villa and the obscene amounts they've been spending, but when you consider how much Newcastle have made from sales, their net spend is probably not much more than us! Villa on the other hand... The parachute payments were originally intended to cover the shortfall in income to cover Premier League wages. We didn't receive them, but I guess our demise contributed to their introduction - after all, we were in a mess for 10+ years after! As a previous poster said, perhaps they're not needed as much now relegated teams are rewarded for failure! I do agree, there should be some extra safeguards brought in: wage caps & relegation clauses won't happen until FIFA sorts itself out and gets involved. What's the point in us doing it whilst China is allowed to pay whatever they want? More sensible would be less prize money for relegated teams & PP only being used to cover WAGES. Any new signings, e.g. McCormack would have to be funded via the same rules the rest of the Championship have to abide by. So, if Villa can prove they can afford him based on revenue for THIS season (player sales, ticket sales, Championship TV rights), then fair enough. I think, along with the likes of Leeds, we're in a unique position with this issue. We're a big (sorry 'massive') club, we've been in the Prem, failed spectacularly, been to hell and back, nearly gone bust... Now we have a rich owner who is willing to spend big, so we could be back on the gravy train soon. In an ideal world, it would be a level playing field, but let's not forget we've just spent a reported £9m on Abdi & Reach, not to mention the massive contracts awarded to Fletcher etc. Like it or not, football is all about money - and will be for a long time to come! Anyway, I very much doubt that Newcastle, Villa & Norwich will be in the top 3 in May. Money doesn't always guarantee success... Sorry for the overly long post!
  9. We'll have to make sure we're there or thereabouts by January though, or it may not be so easy to keep them...
  10. I'd go with: ..................Westwood Palmer.....Lees....Hutch...Pudil Lee....Bannan.....Abdi......Reach .............Fletcher....Forestieri -Palmer keeps his place for me -Abdi plays in the middle or doesn't play -I like Loovens but he doesn't automatically win his place back, even if fit -Lee on the right, rather than Bannan
  11. I saw this the other day. Surely it's good news? We needed a huge overhaul last year & subsequently had a great season. At this level, I'm pretty sure that settled sides do better... We can do it!
  12. Beat me to it! Would've been a great signing at the time...
  13. Weirdly, I was wondering about this the other day... First game in '91, went to between 5 - 15 games a season for about next 5 years (approx 50). Had ST in late 90s (x19). Went away to uni so didn't get to as many between '99 - '03 (probably about 20). Had ST ever since (23 x 13 = 299) and VERY rarely missed a game. Add on the occasional cup game / friendly (not many, probably another 20 or so). I reckon that makes around 400, give or take... Here's to the next 400!
  14. Agree with this. It's definitely going to be a tough league next season so he may have a point, but we have shown progress for a few years in a row now... 2011: Crap (59th best team in England!) 2012: Promotion (46th) 2013: Stayed up (38th) 2014: Stabilised (36th) 2015: Midtable (33rd) 2016: Playoff final (26th ) 2017: Promotion?! (21st or 22nd) Can we do it? YES! Will we do it? Not sure...
  15. Not to mention the increased pressure we'll be under next season. To do it this year would've been against the odds, we were the underdogs. Next season, we'll be amongst the favourites (rightly so, but can we handle the pressure?)
  16. According to yesterday's programme, the average position the following season for the team that loses the Championship Playoff Final is 9th... Now I'm not saying that's where we'll finish, as I'm sure we'll strengthen in the summer, but there's no guarantees we can do it all again next time out! We missed a chance today. Our best chance in 16 years...
  17. This 100%... I prefer ID out of the Hoolie films, not as famous as the others but filmed in Rovrum!
  18. Also, we were at home in the first leg and a Scottish right-winger signed on a free scored the opening goal... Any more?
  19. Agreed about Pudil & Lopez. Sign em up if we can, whatever division we're in. Dielna & Lachman will definitely be moved on. I'd keep Price though. We have two excellent keepers in Westy & Wildsmith. Price is experienced and happy to be 3rd choice. He won't be on much and has some great banter in the dressing room (according to Friday's programme). This all supports the fabulous team spirit we have at the club, why upset it to bring in a slightly better 3rd choice keeper?!
  20. Like most Wednesdayites; I've never owned a red car, never wear red clothes etc. I realised I'd created a monster when my 3 year old daughter was offered a free ukulele (she really wanted one!). Unfortunately it was red, so she had a MASSIVE strop, "I hate red!"... Anyway, I was proud of her so I bought her a pink one! Bad parent?
