OFFICIAL TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY THREAD- SPLASH THE CASH EDITION

Recommended Posts

The likes of Vermijl, Bus and Dempsey, along with our recent loans of Baker and Keane, are all young players. Which is a good sign, with one eye on the future.

I'd also like us to bring in some proven quality and experience in key attacking areas. We've already got a lot of inexperience, inconsistency and youth in attacking areas.

Depending upon what sort of deals we do today, it could be a indication of whether or not the new owners are just giving Gray till the end of the season to see how he does

or whether or not they believe he's the right man for them to take us forward and have a right go at it next season?

If we do bring in some proven experience and quality, then I'd hope we're looking at the likes of Matt Phillips; Kenwyne Jones, Anthony Stokes, Chris Wood as well as Lewis McGugan.

I believe those are the types of players we need in attacking areas to push on. Similar to the proven quality we've got in defensive areas.

If we sign Vermijl does that mean Buxton has played his last game or that Gray has decided Palmer isn't really up to playing RB?

I didn't think RB was a priority for us with Lee being able to play there.

Would make sense in some ways while he still has some resale value. With Palmer as backup and Young coming through with Lee as extra cover.

The Mcgugan situation? Isnt he out of contract at the end of the season, If so then it makes sense not to pay a sum for him which im sure ive heard somewhere thats what Watford want rather than him go on a free, we wait till the loan window opens, carry on his contract till the end of the season then get him on a free.

This said someone could buy him if were hoping for the above or, come the loan window Mcgugan has his pick at the clubs wanting him, best offer and all that.

Apparently he isn't out of contract, so a small fee would be reasonable, more than reasonable I'd say

Think Watford will want us to pay his contract off. Be a loan till end of season with a pre contract offer to him

I'll be surprised if we don't get Mcgugan today. I'm hoping for a winger from somewhere aswell but I can't think of any players out there at the minute who can really improve us.

Who won't cost £10million anyway
