Orlando_Trustful
I didn't mind the Monkfish. We were getting into the rotten squad phase and to get them to 3rd at Christmas was some achievement. Something mental must have gone off at that infamous Christmas Party as the form plummeted off a cliff.

PM @Brownlad He was there and knows what happened. It was grim by all accounts. Players being hogtied with all sorts done to them.
smhouston
Can't believe people think he's a good manager. I said at the time we was looking, anyone but Monk or Pulis and we ended up with both He's a garbage manager, such boring football

Wanted to bring young players in such as Fizz and saw the bigger picture like Röhl does. Good luck Garry

A truly awful manager. The best thing he did was banish Westwood and Hutchinson. Pulis made the mistake of bringing them back into the fold. It worked so well we went from second bottom when he did it to finish bottom at end of the season. I see Hutch is now banished to the stiffs at Reading for having a pop at the manager and younger players whilst doing nothing of note on the field bar booting people and pointing.

I think looking back, Monk was ahead of the game on some decisions.

He'll probably do a decent job as long as he's given a stable context in which to operate. He's poo .
SiJ
His football was awful. Like watching paint dry. Might have had some good ideas, but it was a chore watching his sides. Seems to have a knack of falling out with people too, not just a few of our more difficult senior pros. That stuff about his agent as well.
Screen Door Slams
In my 50 odd years watching he would be halfway between middle and bottom in the list of managers. Always struck me as a particularly joyless man and this was reflected in his teams.
