October 1971, my first week at the Uni (so not a Sheffield lad borne and bred, I just adopted the place).  Tickets in the North Stand were one of the freebies up for grabs to the 'freshers', we beat Fulham 4-0 but can't remember who scored.

Where I came from had a team in the Northern Premier League and I used to follow them, biggest game I ever saw was against Barrow in the 1st round proper of the FA cup, that's what I was used to. The size, sound and atmosphere of Hillsborough absolutely blew me away; the hook went in then and I've been on it ever since, wherever in the world I happened to be.

Think that Fulham match was my first, certainly the first one I can remember anything about - seeing the 4 0 score on the old scoreboard, Peter Mellor in goal for Fulham with his white hair and the old kit with the blue body and white sleeves. My dad says my first Wednesday game was against Italy u23's when I was 18 months old which would have been 1967 but I can't find any record of the match. Doubt my mum would have let me go at that age anyway.

Mine too. Wednesday played in white shirts with blue shorts and I sat in the Upper West Stand hooked ever since.

My first match on the kop - thought I’d died and gone to heaven.... Will never forget that day...
