1960 - stood with my dad at Leppings Lane end v the double winning Spurs team. Owls lost 2-0 and finished 2nd. Blanchflower, McKay, and the brilliant Cliff Jones. 54000 watched it.

Err...we won 2-1 it was my first game as well. Fantham and Griffin scored...We lost 2-1 in the re-match as we played 7 games in April. Megson scored our goal

October 1970 - lost 5-1 at home to Luton.

Malcolm Macdonald scored a hat trick for them, with Jackie Sinclair scoring our only goal.

I seem to remember we didn’t play too badly, but McDonald’s finishing was pretty lethal

September 1971.

Owls 1      Bristol City 5

not much has changed since 🙂

I was the last fan in the ground at this game.  Not many left in at 90 minutes but me and my mate decided to stay in the ground until everyone else had left.  Don't know why, we were young and foolish.

My first game was as per my username, 6-1 v Chelsea.

March 23rd 1963: vs Wolves

North Stand. Went with mi dad and uncle, who used to play for Wolves.

It was the day before my 4th birthday. We won 3-1 but the only thing I remember was the smell of blokes, beer and fags and seeing lots of long overcoats. I still remember how special of felt though.

I could be wrong, but didn't think the Cantilever was built in 1963?

Thought it was built just prior to World Cup in 66.

Still the North Stand but not "The Cant" back then

Versus Wrexham Oct 3rd 1981 - Only time ive ever seen away fans on the Kop

Lost 3-0

I'd been going with my Dad for years by then, but (surprisingly knowing how bad we'd been in the mid  70s) this was the 1st time I'd seen us lose.

I Remember being gutted, I just never expected to see us lose (how times change!!)  I also remember looking across from the Leppings Lane at the handful of  Welshman going crazy in the Kop Triangle.

Looking back I'm pretty certain they'd been put in that corner for their own safety and would have been protected by the police, but they certainly made a impression on an 11 year old watching their celebrations from afar.

Apologies to Redowl it was built in 60/61

Was it the Leppings Lane that was done just prior to 66?
