First time I can really remember being interested in supporting us was in the 3rd Division with Hornsby, Wylde, Rushbury etc so guessing my real interest started late 70s. Funnily enough, back then I thought we were great, (although we were crap, we regularly won my Dad took me, so he can't took me that often!!) so much better than now. Remember Tommy Tynan? Him and Wylde together, great times but in Div 3

REDOWL
March 9th 1963 v Manchester City. We beat them 4-1(as we would today)with David "Bronco" Layne getting a hat trick and Colin Dobson the other. I've never forgotten that day with my Dad, who wasn't really a massive football fan, and seeing my heroes for the first time. Very happy days and memories. Blatter
1958 or 1959 can’t remember which year it’s so long ago. I remember we won 5-0 and got promoted though. Became a fan that day and really thought it would always be like it was back then.
