Hundreds of teams have conceded a goal in the last minutes of the first half and gone In at 1-1

Not many go on to fall apart to lose 4-1

We lost because our players do what they specialise in, faloign apart and bottling it

Bannan, reach, westwood, Lees, Hutchinson

King of bottlers

Done it time and time again

But people still give excuses

They and the rest of the team aren't good enough, never will be

Some players are winners and some are losers

We have a team of losers

They don't want it enough

Your right about a team of bottlers

Wouldn't put Westwood and Hutch in that list..imo

Mostly agree with this, top post.

Both penalties could have been avoided in both games, but to blame the penalty v millwall as a turning point in the game meeeeh.

If that was true how come we didn't go on to loose v Bournemouth after Hutch gave one away???

It's down to mentality.

Because both players are brain dead.

I am the worst critic of the 2 idiots so called footballers.

Can't defend the indefensible, both players are cack.

One should still be on his holidays,  whilst the other should be making cheese.

Two totally unnecessary penalty's given away,by two Championship players with years of experience under their belts....NO excuse whatsoever......yes it might have been a goal scoring chance, but thats what WW is there for.....same last week, but we got away with it...

Might not even got a shot off,or blasted it over the bar,or WW could have saved it....

Totally changed the game as far as  ime concerned, gave the Millwall team a real lift going into half time,& their manager sent them out to get a win second half...

How many times have we seen this?...3 points given away,in my opinion,in a game we could,& should have won.

Where were BB & Reach second half? barely heard them mentioned....& NO service whatsoever to our 'strikers'...

Totally agree. The Joey one is miles worse though. Hutch got the wrong side and the guy was through. Pelupessy is just crap. No other team would concede a penalty from a throw in like that.

Not surprised at all by this. Woeful defending in both examples, one of which we were lucky to still have 11 men.

One player gets excuses made for him whilst the other is deemed not good enough and cost us the game.

Well I am going part way to proving you right as I will partly excuse Hutch whilst criticisng Joey.  The ball over the top was an awful for him to defend, over his head so he had to turn, then the spin on the ball favoured the attacker on the bounce leaving Hutch wrong side.  Did he need to attempt the tackle?  maybe not, could have left it to Westwood, but at least it was a genuine attempt to make a goal saving tackle.  A different ref could also maybe have shown a red.

Joey v Millwall however was dreadful.  I have been more impressed of late that he has shown signs of improvement, but he has a knack of getting it wrong.  He often seems to almost run past players who have their back to him, allowing them to turn him easily.  In this case however he stood behind tight to the forward who backed into him.  He could have tried to stand his ground and gone down, but he again allowed the opponent to turn and wrapped his arms round him, dragging him to the ground, in the corner of the box, with covering players.  it was not a genuine attempt at a goal saving challenge, it was clumsy, needless and stupid.

Why was the response different from us to the 2 penalties?  Who knows?  Maybe we are better suited to playing better teams on better pitches than we are against direct teams that bully us on poor pitches?

I do believe that the penalty changed the game, we were coasting and Milllwall were getting nowhere and losing heart.  They got a great lift from the unexpected gift, and we began to doubt and got mullered.

Lets hope for more of a Bournmouth and less of a Coventry/Millwall tomorrow night.

I think Hutchison's against Bournemouth was the worst/most avoidable and but I was little surprised to see him commit it. He has a history of making stupid/rash decisions. Pelupussy was bad positioning, nothing more as I see it.

At least there were no red cards as was the case in November/December.
