YAWN....how about we sack the sh**e players instead?....This season will be ugly, seat of the pants football, with little joy.....that much is evident....we must stick with monk & hope he can keep us in the Championship now we are no longer minus....

HOPE??? we need more than hope, we need leadership, we need a plan,

we need togetherness in all areas of the club, we need desire, we need inspiration, we need to look like we believe in what we are doing.

None of the above are evident in all Monk's time here and show absolutely no signs of improvement.

The only possible reason I can see is that Mr C doesn't want to pay GM and his mates off.

It can't be that he's done such a good job for the past year.

There is little alternative,we have let him bring in his back room staff, and i personally dont think we know anything like the full story.(ie how many of the new signings brought in are being selected?) Wouldnt you be playing signings you had brought in?

Not sure we could attract the better caliber of manager available without them having control, and ime not convinced monk has a free hand...

Have a look at the players,& if your right, how did monk achieve a third place spot?

Haven’t you seen half the posts over the last couple of seasons on here.. constantly calling for the play off team to be dismantled even though it was obvious that at their ages they were still better than what would be replacing them. The only ones from the 2017 team who are no longer good enough for this level due to age are Loovens, Pudil and Wallace. The rest are all still 29-33 and of far higher quality than what’s been brought in to replace them

Play off team wasnt good enough and failed, many were on wages that were unsustainable in the long term.several were alleged to have attitude issues, and needed moving on....its history now,we must move on...

Riding Bruces wave , then he slagged players off at Wigan then he dropped two and we divebombed , he did the same at Swansea culminating in the sack for bad man management  after a great first season with another managers players he made his move and they divebombed ,

ring any bells

It’s Chansiri’s money though and it’s what’s required to be competitive at the top end. We’re going to scrape around the bottom 8 with this new budget and playing squad then probably end up in League 1 eventually

We wasted plenty of money unnecessarily during 2015-17, overpaying players, signing ones we didn’t need etc and never having squad turnover. But 30 grand a week is the going rate for good strikers that can fire you to promotion at this level

It might be a sad state of affairs but that’s the way the business is in football right now. Pay them 10k a week instead and you end up attracting dross who can’t score. And that’s where we are

Its not all Chansiri's money is it? the TV money from the Premier League some 7 Million, plus night games money, and approx 6 Million(pre lockdown) of the fans gate receipts..some 39 million approx over 3 years

Fletcher was pivotal. Not just his goals, he bullied defenders, held it up and allowed the team to get forward as a unit.
It looks as if that was always plan A. I’d be interested to know if Monk wanted to re-sign him - you’d have to think so, but

now he’s gone, where is the replacement. Blatantly obvious in the situation were in we need a target man.
Are we back to the who is in charge of recruitment question ?

He has never done anything as a manager, he football is awful, his results are shambolic and his win record is worse than Dross and Irvine's.

He should have been sacked months ago.

Not correct but who cares any more..

He didn't achieve a third place, to achieve would have been to finish third. We were briefly in third before Monk got rid of supposed bad eggs and players still had good habits from previous coaches (Monk said he wasn't going to change things straight away) then once Monk did change the way we played it was all downhill and has continued on a downwards trajectory. Open your eyes to how poor Monk is instead of desperately clinging to some bizarre HOPE that he can turn this round despite all the evidence saying this aint gonna happen.

newcastle lol , and it was his team that reached 3rd until  your idol decidedly  messed it all up

I support SWFC not GM and Bruces team as you call it(i see you dodged the Q) were 6th when he took over and finished?? where were exactly before he left? what was our League position?

And when we were third was Bruce still doing team selection, tactics & subs from Newcastle?...
