Well, new opportunity under Bruce i think. Everyone fit and fresh for the new season.
van Aken was thrown in the deep end. Stuttered a bit, was dropped hard then got injured (like everyone else).

So who knows at this point?

 

Given a structure, stability, decent instructions, confidence and opportunity, we might see the player that the scouts saw originally.

Think transfer fees can be quote complicated these days.
£4m is probably the maximum we would have to pay for him after initial fee, certain amount of appearances and if we get promotion.

Will have to have an excellent season for him to turnaround his time at Wednesday.
That game v Sheffield United we lost 4-2 he was all at sea.

We looked at over 100 defenders and ended up with him..

A couple of our defenders have upped their game since Bruce arrived and Palmer, who looked as though his S6 days were numbered, suddenly became our best left back (when Lazaar was injured), so if Bruce can have the same kind of effect on Van Aken, we could end up with someone who can do a good job for us in the middle of defence, or as an attacking left back (he was a winger in his early days and can put a good ball in ), or maybe as a defensive midfielder. I am pretty sure that Bruce can either get him looking good enough to play for us, or at least good enough to sell to somebody else if not!
