How's he coming on by the way? I might be getting mixed up, but isn't he the small nippy tricky player we've got?

That's right.  Not really seen him but was starting to be more regular in the U18s I noticed towards the end of the season. I read on here that he had also been playing for the U16's

There are many rumours and theories around the George Hirst thing

In truth 99.9999999% of people are just making conspiracy theories up and don't know what's really being said/done around the whole situation/deal

People on both 'sides' of this argument saying one thing or the other about it - they don't know anything either. They've just heard from a bloke somewhere that someone said something, isn't signing something, wants more money etc etc. In reality all rumour again.

Let's all be honest here - nobody REALLY knows anything

I think the fact George hasn’t come out publicly defending himself from the rumours means they’re probably true

That’s a big jump. He’s only a kid.

19, nearly an adult. I don’t believe this agent nonsense either. If George wanted to play for this club he’d sign

I meant in relation to telling his side of the story tbh. Not sure at that age I would have had the confidence to go the press with what would possibly be a controversial story?

Why should he have to defend himself?  If people are prepared to believe half-baked rumours then that's down to themselves and their own gullibility.

Wish people would follow the evidence and if there isn't any evidence, then don't make it up.

Mate, If you are having trouble understanding the gist of my post,  I can recommend a good private English tutor.

Why do you put FFS at the bottom of every post?

The irony.

Do you understand the definition of irony? The offer for the tutor is still on.

Stop biting.

The irony was, my wife is an English tutor.

You take things way too personal.

I find it incredible that on a thread spanning one and a half days and five pages, we have, by my count, a total of 15 posts actually referencing the topic of the thread- ie Borukov and his contract. And that's including Neil posting the OP twice! lol

Must be an Owlstalk record this

BACK TO THE TOPIC

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed they have offered Preslav Borukov a new contract and are confident he is going to sign it.

We've been highlighting this player for some time now as he's bursting through the ranks banging in goals in a big way for the U18's and U23 sides we have at Hillsborough as well as during his international games for Bulgaria

He's a real prospect, big, strong, and prolific

We need him to sign this contract and continue to be a core part of our youth development and he could very well become a first team player, especially under Jos who has a refreshing approach to developing and nurturing the young hungry, and exciting talent we have in our younger sides (unlike his predecessor who is now currently without a job)

Come on Borukov - GET SIGNING!

PERSONALLY

(listen to your wife more)

lol

(sorry - couldn't resist)

Tut,tut, tut Mr @owlstalk pot and kettle and all that .

Back to topic. (and the reason I actually opened this thread.)

I saw Borukov play in the U23 Colchester game.

He looked a very strong player and was unlucky to be taken off when he was starting to look a cert to score.

When he came back to the bench he had a bit of a tantrum.

Kicking water bottles, slamming cool box lids etc.

In fact I missed the Colchester goal, which from memory must have been 10/15 minutes later as I was watching him give another water bottle a hard time.

Though this was childish and impetuous behavior, it also showed a passion for the game and the fact he was absolutely gutted at being substituted.

He still has a way to go, but I feel if he makes the grade then some one with his more fiery nature may be a good addition.

Will be nice if he comes through, nice to see youngsters progress.  Any other nuggets in the pipeline?

Some one that stands out for different reason is Nielsen.

It may be confidence because of his first team appearances but even though he's not captain you can hear him constantly shouting/ organising especially for corners free kicks etc.

He comes across as a very confident young man and a natural leader.
