PolarNigel
Jos is doing alright, nothing spectacular (not that we should expect anything more with our current injury list) but so-so. Imperative that he keeps us in this division and we can judge him (if he stays) next season. Reminds me of Stuart Gray in that he's a coach who saw that we were leaking goals and to plug that hole is probably leaning more towards the defensive side of things. Can't forgive him for Tuesday night though- what an atrocious game plan.

There's more behind the scenes to that lineup, assuredly. Jos has enough pedigree in a real league to understand basic tactics and formations. Something was up. Dont get me wrong, of course we have serious injury issues but we are not selecting Dial house working Mens club players are we. Anyone would think we are playing kids, mums, and the over 45 Nomad sunday league players with the way some on here are going on. I was fitter playing for the over 45's in the Nomads than some players this season...didn't need a coach telling me how fit I should be either
Indoor Owl
Not sure why he deserves accolades for playing the youth, to be honest: If anything, I think our youth players have proved exactly why they deserve to be nowhere near a Championship starting lineup, and why the likes of Stobbs had problems getting games even in League Two. And what exactly are we striving for? To win football games, or to make sure youth players get lots of minutes in draws and losing efforts? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a reactionary, and I would like to see Jos get at least a couple years, but trying to suggest he's "first class" for the absolute poo sandwich we've seen on the pitch and in line ups is something else entirely.... Absolutely - the only young lad that has really shown up was clare and he benched him against Millwall. thorniley and stobbs won’t make our first team long term. its a myth that he’s bringing young lads through. I expect your post strikes a chord with many supporters because modern life seems to demand instant success. Personally I quite like that Jos appears to have patience and an eye for the long term future. The exceptional injury crisis that has blighted this season might just serve us well in helping the club to realise some potential from its youth. Under the bloated squad of recent years it seemed impossible that any development players could progress to become first team players, but not now. I get it that this season could turn out badly, but at the end of the day it’s sport and looking on the bright side how good would it be if a few of the younger players helped keep us up and went on to become Wednesday regulars for years to come?

If that were true, you could describe him as a tricky little fellow. I like him if he’s prepared to take on the Chairman. Can’t understand how people can make such definitive statements for the long term success of youngsters coming through. Surely they deserve a season in the first team squad before being written off??
