Goodbye Stevie May

Recommended Posts

Still remember how impressed Strachan and Naismith were with him in Scotland squad. Suspect he could be much better than we think. After all, there is another striker we had at the club for several months, but didnt rate who apparently is now worth £14m. Perhaps we are part of the problem. Also another recent ex player who now cant be bought for £5m who many  here didnt fancy. Meanwhile we are still scratching around for a goalscorer.

Can't kick a ball but scores 80 plus goals by the age of 22. Some achievement.

Look at his goals he scored in Scotland nearly every one dribble into the net, Championship keepers pick them up. How many goals has he scored for us? How many chances has he fluffed, the only hatricks he will ever score with us is hatricks of failed one on ones.

If it's so easy to score goals in Scotland, why don't they have a load of 21 year olds with 80 plus goals to their name knocking on the door of the national team? The lad is a goal scorer and will have a good career scoring far more goals than Nuhiu, Lavery and Bus will.

Give it a f*cking rest.

You quite happily lambast the other bloke, yet when May gets mentioned you go off like one of those dads who's living vicariously through his son.

He might score goals one day, but it isn't working out here and it is probably for the best for all parties concerned that he moves on.

39 appearances 7 goals. As to Lavery Nuhui I don't rate them either but we are talking about Stevie May, Championship is a level above him, he simply isn't strong enough, and that is from the horses mouth. Seems an honest player and I wish him well he will still play football at a level we can only dream about and earn a very nice living.

Would rather get him loaned out to a Championship club.

Not many players have scored as many in one season in the Scottish top flight as May, regardless of the standard - the SPL has had a lot of quality strikers over the years. Scored in the Europa League too just before he signed for us.

Remember he was pretty unlucky in front of goal a fair few times last season too - must have hit to wood work at least half a dozen occasions; the effort that hit the bar and then post against Huddersfield springs to mind.

Our midfield last season lacked creativity and width, starving our strikers of chances. That usually results in strikers snatching at the odd chance tat does come their way.

May also joined us during the season, missing out on a pre-season with his new team mates. Not forgetting joining a new league in another country.

May reminds me of Jeffers. As in he actively runs away from the ball and then will push the blame onto the other players for not finding his runs.

Ok that might be harsh, but at times last season it seemed as if he was making runs which just made it difficult to players to pick out rather than wanting the ball.

A loan spell would be best for both parties

"Well done Mrs Smith, you have a beautiful baby boy!"

"Can he walk and talk yet?"

"Well, no, he's barely 30 seconds old."

"F'kin send him back then. F'kin sh't"

Abstract post of the day, we didn't buy a baby we bought a centre forward to score goals, he signed the contract and was employed to do a job. If you employed someone to repair your washing machine and asked you what a washing machine looks like and do you have any tools you would show him the door.

as you like abstract.

what about the one on ones he missed? More than one in some games. If we are to progress we need better players I don't get some fans who get all protective about players who have failed, if we are happy with what we already have we will get what we have always have gotten.
