Guest Hudders Owl87
Doesn't control a ball well for me, bounces up in the air more often than not Very wasteful, aimless balls into open space, not enough support for the attack, did well to get into box once today but most of the time we're attacking and he's still on the halfway line. He's not a bad player, but he just doesn't do enough and often doesn't look like he actually wants to, personally I think he's capable of more than he actually shows. If we had a midfielder who did all the said above we would be in the top 6! Fair comment tho
Beholder
Would love to know these 'many' MOM performances he's given in this league. IMO he is not good enough for a top championship team and my point was that's ultimately where we want to be isn't it? He isn't the future for us. They happened mainly last season. Though typically people who want to make a certain point have amnesia when it comes to remembering any evidence supportive of the opposite. Never said he's the future or where we want to be but he's far far better than a lot of people give him credit for. If he's asked to sit back you can't blame him for not getting forward all the time. In the last 2 years since he fought back from being out on loan and pretty much hung out to dry by Jones he's outperformed Prutton, McCabe, Corry, Olifinja and McPhail. Of the players we own there's only Semedo being more of a defensive specialist and Lee being an unexpected gem in midfield that have done better than him. Eightace
No I dont agree that people have raved about him and then slagged him off for one bad game. Most people have said he's not good enough quite often. He's a decent squad player but we need better. He will never be first choice He's ok I wouldnt say hes poor. 'confirmation bias' Sorry mate but absolute BS. he had an excellent game away at Hull I remember. But definately not 'many' MOM performances. I have no agenda against coke other than I don't think he's good enough. For you to say he had 'many' MOM displays last season tells me your a super fan of coke and don't see the game properly. Why did we stay up last season? Because of Giles cokes many MOM displays lol
York_Owl
He's a good footballer, nice touch comfortable on the ball with both feet gets forward well when given license to do so. Probably more suited to playing in a three man central midfield.

I realise that, but coke wasn't MOM and stand out performer in 'many' of those games, let's get a bit of realism here.
Guest
Coke doesn't bring much to the table. With Hutchindon sitting in would prefer Gardner or McCabe Even when sitting Hutchinson had more influence on our good attacking moments than Coke. Unfortunately I think McCabe is another that has not made the most of the opportunities when they have arisen, though they have been few and far between of late. He was awful at Rotherham but he wasn't on his own that night. For those who think Coke's desire and attitude is questionable McCabe has been worse at times. Guest Sheff Owl
Coke is not poor but if we want to progress we need better. If everyone was fit would Llera, Coke, Taylor, Zayatte, Corry, McCabe and Prutton be starters or certain of a place on the bench? We need to move on and make progress and IMO with the above names i doubt we will do that.

That's nothing really, it doesn't take much to be better than olafinjana was for us this season. Coke can be a good player on his day and branding him dogsh1t is a bit over the top but he's far too inconsistent, far too many games like monday when he just drops off the face of the earth after trying some stupid pass that had zero chance of working. We could maybe afford to experiment a bit if safety is assured towards the end of the season, so coke will have to prove his ability to gray soon if he wants to keep a meaningful role. Ash77
decent bench/backup player for maybe a dozen or so starts a year due to injuries/suspensions. we don't have the dosh to have much better backup than him, but can't afford to have him as a 1st team regular either. He's not been consistent, I agree. But his performance on Monday may have been hampered by the fact that he played on after having his hand crushed and broken. I think we can leave that one out of any comparisons if we are beeing fair to the lad

He may have been in considerable pain from his injury He was left without any real support in midfield when Gray bizarrely decided to go ahead with the substitutions despite the equalizer. By all accounts as bad as he played he would still have bagged us an important second goal had in not been for Best's backside getting in the way. Lee A
wtf has Gardner done since he arrived? Played 2 games in 3 days having hardly played for a year. Ease him in properly and he'll be the best player we've got, trouble is as usual with Wednesday, we don't really have time to do that
