@owlstalk
If you could pick any two centre backs from our entire history of Sheffield Wednesday to pair up into an unbeatable defence which two would you pick? Note they'd have to work as a pairing Owlstalk Shop

Taff_Owl
Thome was quality, as was Viv Anderson. But I'd go for Walker and Pearson as well.

Sinner
Mike Lyons and Des Walker If not this, then it would have to be Larry May & Ian Cranson.
ramone
Cant add anything else to Walker and Pearson for me. My dad would probably disagree with me and put Peter Swan in there. He said he was class and probably the best defender he's ever seen at Hillsborough. Maybe some the older chaps/lasses (no disrespect) can give some insight as to how good he was.... Paul..
Can it be at their peak? Viv Anderson and Des Walker then, easily the best international class CB's that have played for us in my time following Wednesday.
cowl
Pearson and Walker for me too. They were actually at the club at the same time for a month or so too, but only played a few games together. I remember at the time not being too disappointed about Pearson leaving; he'd broken his leg the season before and didn't look the same player when he came back in. I also thought his lack of pace was a major problem, and was chuffed to bits when we brought in Walker. Looking back I think it was perhaps a mistake to sell him though. He'd only just turned 30, after all, and did go on to have a few good years at Middlesbrough. Andy Pearce was essentially his replacement too. Lord Snooty
. Andy Pearce was essentially his replacement too. Good god. Those two very transactions should have been the alarm bells ringing about poor Trevors state of mind!
