Football Manager...

Recommended Posts

...has made people think they genuinely know what they're talking about - when usually they're talking out of their anus.

"Go 4-4-2, you score more goals!", "4-5-1 is so defensive, you need to attack more", "Get Terry Burton back in, he's the reason why we're poo poo now", "We need a better defensive coach"

Dave Jones has two decades worth of football management experience under his belt.

He knows the game inside and out - and those inside the game will tell you he is the man for the job.

He's made mistakes, but everybody does.

Everybody is up in arms when a manager is sacked nowadays - "he's only been in the job two minutes, there's no patience nowadays", yet when it's our own manager, fans are more than content to stick the knife in after just 16 games of a season (his first full season - having won promotion the previous season).

I trust DJ to get it right.

It'll be a long season, but we'll do enough to stay up, and we'll move on from there.

And what makes you think you've got the 'correct' opinion about Jones staying?

You don't have to be a player of FM13 to realise that DJ is STILL getting things wrong (and not learning).

He's played 4-4-2 for most of his career and famous for attacking, attractive football. He has a whole pre-season to get the defence sorted and we end up playing 3 out of 4 we had in League One. He changes his system to 4-5-1 as a result of leaking goals but we still leak goals and we stop scoring as many.

Where's the logic Kivo?

Football fans might not know everything - but they don't know nothing either.

If you drew up a list of 100 things a football club should do, and every team in the league followed them to the letter, one would still be top and one would still be bottom. Regular as clockwork the fans of the latter would be saying stuff like 'the manager has lost the dressing room' or that 'the players don't care'.

All circumstances are different, but the reaction of many supporters usually aren't.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. That said, it does sound like he's looking to get one or two out to get people in though. I still think he is the right man for the job. I jus don't see better available either, for now
