B.A Baracus
Rodri and maguire have had no game time... so how can they be judged, the way DKJ is playying the team there isnlt a place for goal poachers unless he plays 442 not bloody 451... neither of them are one up front types, they need to be off COG... We have strikers if we bloody play them.... Rodri's had plenty of game time and looked, to be quite honest, crap. The Maguire situation however is an absolute joke. So is the fact that Dave Jones wants more players. Put the shovel away Dave and sort the squad you've got out.
BRADDAZ
He shouldn't need to be signing any more players and I hope he isn't laying the foundations for excuses. He shouldn't have any. He's been very well backed this summer and is underachieving big time at the moment. Edited October 26, 2012 by BRADDAZ
gurujuan
If Rob Staton says that DJ has told him he has to move someone out before he can bring someone, that suggests he has gone to Milan asking him for permission So we've established the fact that DJ himself feels we need to bring someone in. Good, so its not just me. There are plenty of players who you would have thought could be loaned out. Maguire is the obvious one, I'm sure there would be plenty of takers. With Antonio and Bothroyd occupying the wide positions, do we need to have JJ, Pecnik and Mayor as back up? Having said that, didn't we just loan out Beevers? Guest intercity0wl
Can imagine old Milans face if he asked for another striker. Maguire, Pecnik and Rodri. 3 absolute shockers. But about right for what Milan wants DJ to play with, wasn't it only the other week around the time of the vote of confidence that MM said that new players would come in if DJ wanted em. Maybe DJ had told MM that he would like to actually play with the big boys, and bring somebody of a better standard in, and was just repeating the reply MM gave him in response to Statons question. Guest Stereophonics
Fair enough I think. DJ has a problem I think in that if he swapped the the whole team around we wouldn't notice any difference in quality.

torryowl
Really surprised we haven't been able to shift Coke and Prutton on full time deals tbh. Prutton because of his experience, and Coke because (regardless of attitude and application) he has well above average ability for League 1. I think ALL of the above bar Reynolds are out of contract next summer so they'll all be on their way out then if they've not already found a new club in the interim. Coke is back again already. And we're still paying most of Reynolds' wages. its simple mate no one in league 1 can match the contracts they have here .....
Bahrain Owl
Very true. Dave Jones signed plenty - its time for him to demonstrate his management skills with the players we have. wrong tense mate ....he's already had the time. it still sticks out in mind the statement that he made boasting that automatic promotion was such a huge benefit as it gave us the "heads up" on the better players around instead of having to wait until after the play-offs before they could look at the shopping list. Was he speaking out of turn?
Blue and white
For me Rodri can't play the lone striker role,he needs to play in a 442 formation. It's a shame were not playing him up top with Boothroyd,Madine or COG. End of the day you don't get in to the Barca squad unless you have something about you. gurujuan
I find it so depressing that it takes us so flipping long to address a problem. DJ should have gone to Milan weeks ago or if he did, then surely a bit of wheeling and dealing could have sorted the problem

And then he wasn't allowed to get the better players, good god it was only the thought of a fans revolt, and a bit of arm twisting that made him pay more than he wanted for Antonio. Guest Big Guns
How many of those now suggesting we signed too many players were cautioning us against that policy three months ago? The modern football supporter is almost always clamouring for new signings and getting giddy when they are made. The realist has said all along Weeve got too many players.. Taff_Owl
Rodri Mattock Lee Maguire Mayor All players who people on here seem to have written of as 'bad' without having fewer than a couple of full games under their belt. Defies belief. It's a marathon not a sprint. Edited October 26, 2012 by Taff_Owl
gurujuan
Taff, don't think most are writing off those players as no hopers, and I'm sure some will come good, however why were so many signed. If they were signed as players able to do a job from the off, shouldn't they be in the side? If they were not, and the players we had from last year are better, surely all we needed to do was fine tune the side. Either way its done now and it has to be about where we go from here. The modern football supporter is almost always clamouring for new signings and getting giddy when they are made. We may have all been a bit giddy at all the new signings, but we also expected that DJ and the scouting system had been looking at these players for a period of time and had judged them as good enough for at least a mid table finish for us. What we have got is many that have seen there better years, some who can,t hack English football and others that were not as good as what we already had. That showed a very a poor recruitment policy and since then, poor team selection, team building and formation choice. It,s going to be a long hard season for us. DJMortimer
The realist has said all along Weeve got too many players.. The group from which the first team is usually picked is probably about the right size. The problem is we've got quite a lot who will play little or no part this season like Reynolds, Coke, Prutton, Weaver, Bennett etc.

Id say Coke Bennett Lines Weaver Madine Need off loading or loaning out Madine needs games a season long loan in league 1,won't harm him
