Gardener

Don't really know what to say.

Come here with a lot of experience, but today he looked well short of what's expected.

Bad touches, no composure, beaten in the air many a time, choosing the wrong pass, poor positioning...

Not a great game and he certainly didn't have a great game against Oldham last Monday either.

I have to be honest, the defence was not playing as a unit today. Whether that's something that will take time or different players, only time will tell. Midfield was our strongest department, especially second half. Think we'll upgrade our strikeforce by one or 2 players in the next week or so and will be fine there.

Gardener was terrible.

Can't understand why Buxton is getting stick. He'll settle down we all know he's got the quality.

Reda improved on his performance at Oldham where he was utterly sh!te. He settled in as the game went on and as we know saved the day.

Give them time. Although im not sure on Gardner.

As has been said in other threads someone needs to be the leader of he defence. That's the role Gardner should take and then hopefully we will be better. It takes time to gel and remember he is the new guy after rob jones and batth left.

The fact is Gardner has never been that good, he's always been error prone throughut his entire career. You would hope stepping down a level would help but he is a worry, especially playing alongside Reda, they are not a great pairing, very similar in style and both laxidasical.

Batth and Llera were a much better partnership.

Agree he's a bit injury prone, but other than that your opening sentence is utter tripe. Wasn't he Palace's player of the season last season? Also, Spurs obviously thought a lot of him to keep hold of him for so long.

We've played 2 competitive games so far and already the lynch mob are out in force. Batth was no Vidic when he first came to us, give him time ffs.

i think reda didn't help him, with reda being out of poition half the game it drags him away from where he needs to be

Didn't play well at all- he lost Tyson for the first goal and should have dealt with a lot of balls that came into the box throughout the first half.

However it was his debut, so i'm not overly concerned...he obviously has real pedigree and i'm sure he'll come good as he settles in over the coming weeks and months.
