Good defender, well respected, England international.

Just has a bit of bad luck with injuries, and hasn't yet had enough game time to establish a good understanding with his centre back partner

Nothing to worry about

Who is his partner though...that's an issue.

A newbie? Llera? Beevers? Reda? Who is going to be playing LB & RB? Reda? Buxton? Lee? Mattock? A newbie? A back 4 needs consistancy, and we don't have it at the moment. I don't think DJ knows. We're usually really stingy at the back, or were in our last 12 or so games. We need to get it back and get a settled back 4. Going to take some time, so we have to expect a few leaks.

The guys we have in midfield will hopefully make up for this, creating and taking chances...getting us out of jail. So I'm sure we'll be OK in the long run, just might be a bit twitchy for a while.

Ou wide men are going to have to cover the inside of our full backs more in the first half hour so we can stem the crosses into the box. All too often Buxton and Reda were turned inside with the wide runner then drawing out iether Gardner or Llera. Though on both goals both centre backs were in the middle, though for first goal Gardner was up against fresh air.

It is to be hoped they will settle and communicate better as the partnership develops.
