Alex Hunt gets a game ... Ryan Galvin doesn't.   Clues?

Otherwise, good continuity in selection

I think Galvin’s nailed down for a loan away. Hunt‘s future depends on whether we keep FDB or not?

Yes, DM said in interview this week that there was a loan offer on the table that was under serious consideration

Looks like Ryan Galvin is the player  ...  which is fair enough IMO

I'd prefer to keep Alex Hunt in the squad anyway

What is the point of playing Alex Hunt in the game like this?  He has nothing to learn any more playing at that level while talented players like Dunn and Shipston watch from the bench.

Perhaps DM wants some minutes under his belt before the Pizza Cup match

Could be,  but I would give playing time to one of midfielders that might have future at the club instead.

FT:   3-1

Fair result?   Dunno

Zero coverage from a Wednesday perspective

Have to wait and see what the OS come up with later

Disappointed though,  that looked like a decent start XI

It’s up and down with us when it comes to academy football. Somewhere along the line we have to stop paying lip service to it and start taking it seriously or just bin it off altogether?

Seems a long way to go for an U21 game, with the travel and hotel expenses as well. You'd think games at that level would be split north/south.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but I think these games are part split on a N/S basis. I think we play Northern teams twice (home and away) and Southern teams just once (half home, half away).

Problem with the Cat A academies though which wont go away. As we saw with the 2 who went to Brentford.

Dont see how we get by with a system so much against lower league clubs
