We have spent the last 9 months trying to find a defensive ball winning midfielder and we let him leave for free. We need a championship quality keeper and have one training with the kids, we need attacking goal scoring wingers and let Fessi leave for free, we need strikers and let 4 leave on frees in the summer. What will get us through this season is hard-work, unity and battlers. The quality has dropped until we’re in a position to spend cash again. If DC is willing too. We have Luongo who in my view,is an adequate/good replacement,The 'Championship' quality GK you refer to, after being recontacted by Bruce was than dropped for form reasons,& lost his place in my opinion justifiably to Dawson(how many times have we seen that? a player playing out of his skin coming up to contract renewal,than form falling off a cliff afterward?) Fletcher was offered a contract,but turned it down, & so on...You are living in the past...FFP is tying our hands,we have received a 12 point deduction,we simply as a Club,couldn't re contract players in a post Covid 19 World,where there is NO end to in sight,to match day income resuming on the wages they were on.(or wanted) Had we as a Club,based our financial decisions/projections on crowds returning,(in OCT) & crowds don't return at all,we would straight away be looking at a 6 Million pound 'black hole'.
