very decent player at league 1 level whether he's manager material at a  higher level I don't know ...did well at bury  with a very good budget and a club Plymouths size you would expect them to be challenging at the top of league 2 …...

Doesn’t work like that though does it - look at Sunderland, look at Stoke now, even Bradford should be doing better

Youve still got to do the job and this far in his managerial career he has

I was annoyed when he left. I remember he gave an interview on Wednesday Player in pre-season saying the step up to the championship was the biggest challenge in his career, and then days later he was sold. To know that he was axed in favour of a foreign lad that never settled or produced makes it even more frustrating.

Agree with this. I wasn't convinced that he would be able to make the step up at that stage of his career but it was a shame we didn't at least give him 6 months to try. Had it not worked out I'm sure he'd have had plenty of clubs in for him from the lower leagues come the January transfer window and it wouldn't have been the biggest of gambles financially to give him that chance.

Fond memories of a good player in a very good season

Nobody is saying he’s Waddle, get a grip

Yeah he did okay, was decent from the bench.

I'm not saying he was Beswetherick, get a grip.

Did anyone go to that game at Bury early in that season where we got pasted?

He schooled us that day - was one of if not best player on pitch, not long after we signed him

I couldn't fault his effort but I thought he wasnt very good.

I thought when we signed him he was a good finisher but I remember him missing a few chances I expected him to score with his reputation.

Correct decision to move him on when we went into the Championship as IMO he wasnt ag that level.

And the tide had already turned in our favour by that point.

Tide turned in our favour in the last game but one

We won away at Brentford

Pigs drew at home to Stevenage in the late kick off

We were at a wedding in Glasgow, I was a nervous wreck the whole day

I sneaked out of the reception to go to the toilet, and ended up being on the phone to my mate who gave me a running commentary of the last 30 minutes

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

I dunno I'd say the late winner against Carlisle kept us in with a shout and they couldn't handle the pressure. But yeah we didn't actually go above them until the Brentford game.

They were still in front of us after the Carlisle game

It was our win against Brentford that turned the tide
