Not name calling , for me slagging off decent championship players and a manager that is doing really well is a little bit stupid. I find it ironic I’m usually criticised for being negative , now maybe I’m too pro Wednesday :duntmatter:

thanks for the concern though , it’s sweet

I prefer you negative, much more fun

Why people revel in finding fault with their club’s players is beyond me. As a fan base, we’re not alone in criticising our own  players but some of our lot are particularly adept at it.

Nuhiu, Palmer, Pelupessy and Dawson aren’t the best player in the division but neither are they the worst - they are good (yes, I said “good”) solid steady Championship players that have all contributed in some way to us currently sitting in sixth position in the league just six points behind the current leaders.

It feels to me that some of our fans won’t rest until they chase these players out of the club. What a sorry state of affairs it would be if these fans hounded out the players they dislike; then again, they’d probably feel satisfied and be raring to go to oust their next targets.

We all want a squad full of world-beaters but it just ain’t going to happen. I wish that some of our fans were more supportive FFS.

I don't agree with abusive, but if every one had the same opionon it would be full of boring people like you. Sport is very competitive and everyone wants to improve and win. This is a forum to discuss football matters . Good or bad.

Exactly - opening post is ridiculous.

What does she expect? Our hardcore of support is a passionate bunch and want the team to do well whoever plays.

If they play anything near decently we turn them into a hero, if they have an off day we get frustrated.

Does the OP expect us to clap politely throughout the game regardless?

Wrong sport-wrong club if so

What amuses me is that the hate brigade call certain of our players everything from pigs to dogs, and when they are pulled up about it some proceed to tap dance on the neg button. Actually if we simply ignored their comments they wouldn’t have anyone to argue with, but it’s not in our psyche is it? :carlosswfc:

Of course, should be total support in the stadium.

But if I was earning their wages, you could say owt you wanted about me.

Just because you have a big bank balance doesn’t make you immune to abuse.

Furthermore, why would any sane Wednesdayite want to do something that would negatively affect the performance of a Wednesday player. Maybe the clue is in the ‘sane Wednesdayite’ bit.

As you have clarified, total support in the ground. This is very often not the case though.

A bit personal. You didn’t have to say it twice also.

Im not talking about the criticism I’m talking about the scapegoating.

... and, I might suggest, that all four players mentioned always put in 100% and,for that reason alone, they are all worthy of praise.

I'm not sure Palmer has over the years

I’m not talking about your groans from the crowd here or even your regular “oh for fvvck’s sake” that you hear at games; I’m talking about your constant criticism and scapegoating of some of our players.

Ever thought that people might just share a different opinion than you, and when they spend £40 a game they have every right to express that opinion?

Players don't get criticism if they are doing the business.

Scapegoating? Isn't that blaming one person for everything that goes wrong? I've never once seen a post like that on here. Not one. Players might get singled out for a particular poor performance, missed a sitter, awful defending, etc. but that's normal for sport and not scapegoating.

I'd also be amazed if there was ONE genuine Wednesday fan out there that actually wanted a player to play badly so they could rant and rave about them.

I wouldn't moan, can't stand lamb chops but I'd certainly moderate my star review if they'd run out of chicken goujons
