Bluesteel
Broken down? Based on what? Based on what the Swindon town fans have been saying over the last few months. It's echoed in the comments on the newspaper articles too. I don't think it's been firmed up though.
Bluesteel
This article/interview of cooper at the time he became Swindon boss is also a good read. Definately seems to have taken the Peterborough failure on the chin and learnt from it http://m.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/10883660.Swindon_Town_boss_Mark_Cooper_reflects_on_his_career_so_far/
Bluesteel
Some good and mixed views from Bristol fans too, a swindon fan in there claims that Williams does most of the coaching though http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/169147-mark-cooper/
dorian gray
i hope our spies have identified the right man, wouldn't want to land the figurehead, whilst the brains is still there... never mind them falling out, look into who actually was the the man... Mr Farrell
Main thing is Cooper is the best man out there for the job and an enlightened appointment.
Beholder
But isn't the figurehead in our set up meant to be Caravahan? I wonder who will pick the team.
Mr Farrell
But isn't the figurehead in our set up meant to be Caravahan? I wonder who will pick the team. Don't think we've appointed the team picker. He will be the 7th member of the team I think.

Bluesteel
I've done a fair bit of reading about Cooper today, including the views of Swindon fans commenting on the various news reports. He's certainly had to scrap his way into the position he is in today and I admire the guy for that, he's clearly a very ambitious and determined character. There is a general theme amongst Swindon fans that Williams does the coaching and Lee Powers signs the players, thus making Cooper somewhat redundant. However, I get the impression that Cooper is something of a scape goat there for some fans as there are similar debates going on as you see on here. If things go badly it is Cooper's fault, but if they go well, Williams gets the credit for the success. Amongst the arguments, some fans do seem to be pointing out that Cooper has done a very good job there under very difficult circumstances (their highest position in 15 years) and that it is unfair to paint him as nothing more than a figurehead. There is talk of a rift between the two, but also others fear that they may lose both Cooper and Williams to us. If we were able to get them both then we could have a pretty good coaching set up for the start of the season. He probably wont come after all this Edited June 21, 2015 by Bluesteel
