Since our last League penalty taken by Leroy Lita on the 8th April 2013 in our 3-2 win at home against Blackburn Rovers.

Had another shout yesterday turned down, looking like we will pass the 1 year without a penalty at this rate.

We obviously should hae had a few I'm that time. The teams higher up in the league will get more as they are attacking in the box more etc. when you take into account how soft some of the penalties teams have got this season it is baffling we haven't somehow even fluked one even if you take all the genuine penalty shouts out of the equation.

There's a positive correlation between the amount of time spent in the opposition's penalty area and the number of penalties you're awarded. Because we have absolutely nothing up front, and consistently haven't had for a number of years, we don't get awarded many penalties.

Is there even a decent explanation for it?

There is a good reason why we should have less than other teams, but not a good reason why we shouldn't have had any.

Most pens are for fouls in the area - in order to get a pen, you have to have a player with the ball at their feet, under control. The more a team is struggling in their general play, the less time you will spend in the opposition box. Its no surprise that Leicester are the outstanding team this year, and they have had loads of pens - plenty of attacking players spending lots of time in the area.

Leicester have had 12 in the league this season

14 in all comps

thats how they all get the points tho, barnsley are currently doing it to try and save their skin but just like the mellis dive how many times would that be given with a shīt ref , wednesday cant dive we are rubbish at it

Fair. We've had quite a few decent penalty shouts, would have expected at least one though!

The refs look for diving now, still don't get why players go down cos they aren't getting away with it anymore

Ronaldo is the best at it, if he can't get to the ball but feels a touch he just pulls up, no dramatic falling over, much more believable
