Guest Sheff Owl
We have a bunch of bottlers, they should be ashamed with every single aspect of today. Every single player seems it's acceptable to back off and back off and pull of out 50/50 challenges. We chase the ball around like kids in a school park without actually trying to win the ball, is it that hard to put your foot in? Fans can forgive a lot but hard work, tackling and effort is something that people won't forgive and our players seem to think it's ok just to trundle around the pitch without actually doing anything. Sick to the back teeth of it, we have no style, we have been left with a pile of crap brought in by both Dave Jones and Milan Mandaric, Milan has tried to do all this on the cheap and will continue to try and do it on the cheap. Milan needs to hold his hands up for this mess and he seems to be getting of quite easily IMO.

WalthamOwl
We need a manager that can motivate them and kick them up the backside if need be

Like you say, the lack of effort is criminal and it is no surprise that we are struggling. We don't have the best team in the league, but it is possible to grind results out if everyone rolls up their sleeves and mucks in. Sadly this isn't happening. No togetherness, no cohesion, and as you have said, something that has been evident for a long time, there is not real style of play or game plan. I went to Wigan on Wednesday, half of them were doing one thing, half the other. It is no surprise we are losing and conceding every week. There is no point half of them doing a certain job, because it won't work, might as well just leave them get on with it. Do we sit deep and play on the counter? Do we pressure the opposition and try and win the ball back high up the pitch? No, and no. Do we have a patient build up play? No. Do we get the ball out wide and into the box? No! We don't have anyone who can work the channels. No one who can dictate the tempo of the game, which is absolutely vital It is in terrible shape, and the only way to improve it is to get a good manager in with a distinct style of play that he can instil into the team. KivoOwl
Completely disagree - think we've got a lot of players who care and put a shift in. They're just not good enough.

Guest Sheff Owl
But how can experienced players be running around the pitch like they haven't got a clue? As i said it's like kids in the school yard who just run after the ball and forget everything else.
Guest Sheff Owl
Yeah loved alt hem players putting in a shift today, tackling, closing down winning 50/50 balls. Must have been watching a different game. Edited December 21, 2013 by Sheff Owl

RichSheffWeds
It was shambolic today. We were second to every ball. Bournemouth out played and out fought us. Their commitment was there to see - I'm afraid our players did not turn up.
till_i_die
I agree - it's the players and Milan, I don't think it has that much to do with Gray. What could he have done differently today? Both goals were Llera's (/Reda's) fault which would have been different if Loovens was fit. We had no Wickham, no Antonio, no Loovens, no Gardner, no Buxton, no Maguire, Roger Johnson was about our only decent player today. Before their first goal, we were the better team and really putting the effort in, as we did in the last 15 mins. I didn't notice any problems with formation, our only real problem was a complete and utter lack of quality because of the crap Jones has left, along with far too many important injuries. Can you explain them turning up against Leicester when they played with desire and pressed constantly? And how they played today?
TheEnchanter
Roger Johnson is on for hatrick of relegations ain't he No he's had a hat-trick already. He's on for his fourth in a row.
Justbeanz
It was the same the other night in all honesty. Wigan just tore us apart at will in the first half. You really have to be concerned when so called professional footballers run around like headless chickens without the first clue of even the basics. There are players down there that look like they'd be better suited playing in Concord Park.
Bring Back Beni
Worst i scene is play.players were tactical set up and were so concerned with holing position they forgot to press a man with the ball
latemodelchild
Bang on OP. Nothing about em at all today. Stood off and watched when a foot in or a bit of pressure would have made a huge difference. Regardless of their qualities or lack of, there's no excuse for today's performance. Gutless, spineless and clueless. The manager sets the tone for the team. They reflect the man in charge.
Lee A
Not including the loans because as usual they come and go after a month or 2, but look at out summer transfer business this year. Zayatte - well known calamity of a defender, Maghoma - lower league gamble but looks alright Helan - most unnatural, talentless footballer I've seen in years, good athlete but as a footballer, wouldn't look good in league 2 Nuhiu - a cheap, immobile lump. What did we really expect with that as our transfer activity? Milan is getting exactly what he's paid for, but unfortunately the fans aren't.
