marconi
David Hirst was trying to chat my sister up in Japanese Whispers nightclub in Barnsley on a Friday night before we had a home game the day after. I had a bit of a laugh with him and told him he had better have a good game tommorow and shouldnt be out before the game. Of course he had a good game the day after. He once chatted my sister-in law up in Josphenes, randy bugger.

My sister's friend went out with Simon Stewart, whilst he was playing for Wednesday. He once sat in our front room.

alanharper
Me and my mate were the first Wednesdayites to get David Hirst's autograph, the morning after he signed. He got out of his Dad's car at the ground, "Are you David Hirst?". "Yeah". "Sign this please". He was really shy, bless him.
MAL
Here's one from the dark side. When we went to Portugal in 2010, we made friends with a couple from darn sarf. Turns out she was the best friend of Tony Curries wife (if he has been married more than once, his first).

Guest Shythawk
During my illustrious 36 year long career as a plumber ive repaired a burst pipe in Chris Waddles kitchen, repaired a nailed heating pipe which Nigel Pearson damaged while sorting out a squeaky floor board. But the absolute highlight has to be unblocking the blocked up carzey in Gary Sheltons house when he lived at Sothall. Happy days.
mattherbs
My dad played for Wednesday and has been mentioned on this thread a few times so many thanks. David Herbert, one of the few lucky ones to play for the owls. Strange to think that only so much people have! The chosen ones.....
aussieowl87
My Grandad owned a few investment properties in WPV. Had Chris Brunt, Richard Evans, and a few other former Owls as tenants. I was fortunate enough to be over at Xmas 2004. Mr Brunt, being the gentleman he is, sorted a training ground meet, signed shirt, and tickets for Doncaster away (Kenwyne's first game for us). Nigel Worthington used to live up the road from me. My Mum used to work with Dave Richards' wife and were quite good friends - went over a few times for dinner etc. As a little note to that last point, I left to live in Oz in 1995.
