in my humble opinion its not so much a dead ball specialist that we need but a good player with that little extra in his abilities to shove a 30 yarder passed a goalkeeper as well as his normal duties. look at beckham could'nt dribble could'nt tackle ,wehave not the luxury to carry passengers.

Mathew Richards

Been impressed by this guy this season. Came close to a goal from a free kick at Hillsboro and has scored a few free kicks this season. We have to remember that we are a third division club and although I would like Buzsaky, players like this and Danny Green may be more realistic targets.

Under Megson he could of turned out to be a really good player for us, Irvine was just awful at man-management. Esajas had the skill and ability but just couldn't produce it consistantly. I feel Megson could of got the best out of him same with Clarke, but that's the past and we have to move on.

Right now our best free-kick taker is Spurr IMO his delivery is better than any other player we have and also very consistent. I'd still like to see him played on the Left Wing before we look at other players.

THANK GOD YOU ARE NOT MANAGER!!!

Would have been crazy to keep Esajas... Would have got kicked pillar to post in this league and would have disappeared on a constant basis. Plus, he didn't really do it for us in the league above did he? In fact, for the most part he was a pile of crap.

We would also be crazy to give Spurr a chance on the left wing. No consistancy in his crossing and he's not quick enough or skillful enough to beat a man or two. Let's not try and find players positions when they're already useless in their main position.

Time for him to move on and us move forward with a much better standard of player than Esajas and Spurr.

we need a front post runner for whenever we are crossing the ball, as we drop short 50% of the time with all crosses from open play, free kicks, and corners...

^^ We need a tall lad at the front post when attacking and defending corners, and a tall lad back post when attacking and defending corners.

JOC doesn't cut that role.

Been saying this to mi old man for a few seasons now, we are missing out on goals and points by not having a free kick specialist in the team

our around the box free kicks are a complete joke...think we should line up two midfielders either side of the taker and let him tee the ball up for a straight shooter...if they have 4 in the wall and one each side attempting to block the shooters, it leaves mellor and madine lighter marking in the middle for a touch on the shot, or to follow it up when saved...

I agree that Megson maybe could get the best out of Esajas, He's getting the best out of JJ IMO.

Warnock could not get the best out of Clarke and he is arguably just as good at man management as GM

Brunt, what a player lol. Jesus I wish we had kept him. Ah well.

Back on topic though, and as mentioned. I think we should really push the boat out and try to sign Clingan. He would be perfect for us, solves our midfield and set piece headache in one fell swoop.

Although according to wikipedia his contract doesnt run out until 2012.

Can't blame Irvine for this one i dont think, he had no intention of producing anything consistently, lazy and flattered to deceive im afraid.

Megson would not have got the best out of him, Megson would have thrown him into the River Don.

Might have had a little bit of skill, but there is a reason that apparent skill is now being displayed in the dutch 2nd division , after failing trials at Rangers, Charlton and others, because he was a bellend, and pointless signings like this were not we needed.

Horrendous set pieces!

Ben Davies on loan for a year would do jobs. good set pieces and the ability to chip in a few goals would help.
