punkskaphil
The grounds in the middle of no where, no boozers, bookies or owt near the ground, thank god my m8s driving. Its not a place for going down on the train. It's less than 2 miles from Colchester North Station, and there's a free bus shuttle to the stadium. andrewowl
There is not much in the way of hotels around there, without paying a fortune out. I did however drop on a decent one 2 weeks ago. It was booked through Late Rooms, the Essex golf and country club; it is about 7 miles from Colchester. We paid £45 for a twin room including a full English breakfast, Discounted round of golf for residents, pool and gym on site also. Worth looking at if you are car sharing guys. Benjani
Me and my dad. Was driving through Colchester yesterday and there were signs to the new ground, but think it was for the park and ride for the bus to the ground, because the ground really is in the middle of no where. There are currently road works going to next to the Stadium to create a new slip road off of the A12 and create parking nearer the ground, but its not expected to be ready until next year. Best bet is to drive into Colchester itself and get the bus from there.

I was thinking along the lines of: STATION >> PUB >> BUS >> MATCH >> BUS >> PUB >> STATION The Bricklayers is a few minutes' walk from the station. punkskaphil
The Bricklayers is a few minutes' walk from the station. Actually, scrap that: it's for home fans only apparently. The Norfolk Arms is supposed to be okay though, and they'll admit away fans.
Last_Great_Hope
Im going. Driving down from Leeds - Not sure how it will be getting away from the centre after the game as I would imagine a lot of the home fans would park there as well. Going to be chancing the parking at Marks Tey train station - 8 mins out of Colchester and slap-bang on the road back to the M11. If the centre is gridlocked, could be the best way. RobHowe
Thanks to Mrs_Howe's kind and understanding nature, I've managed to tie this game in nicely with a long weekend away with the family. Oh and also the kind generosity of BOBD for getting me a ticket.

DeeeeeJ
Have we only got the one end or 2 like previous years. Few mates have got tickets in one of the stands, but i know from past experience we have had 2 different areas of the ground. Checking online there is only a handful left and i'm gunna get them tonight.
Sam779
It was the old stadium that had seats at one end and standing at the other. That was before they put temporary seats next to the standing bit. We're all in the same bit at the new stadium.
