Guest foreverSWFC
Shoot me down, but he needs dropping. He has been woeful in recent games, slow in posession and is the weak link in our midfield. He offers effort and strength but nothing else, you need more in this League. Leicester's number 4 could do everything Semedo does and better, but was also comfortable in possession and could get forward. Love Semedo, think he's brilliant at what he does, but against the majority of sides in this division he is going to get found out, it takes him too long to get the ball under control and then pass it, we need more of a threat and urgency in midfield espeically if we stick with 4-4-2. Lines and McCabe in the middle next game.
stuffed owl
Agreed. Just what the Charlton fans warned us about in this Division.
Ronio
Diagree. I think we need Semedo in there! I think what is lacking is that partnership Semedo had with Linesy last season. Did the job for us then.
fudge27
I agree a Lines and McCabe partnership is needed..but I'd be tempted to try Jose at CB, well certainly next season

Did the job for us then. Did the job for us because it was League One. The Championship is a whole new level, more quality and more competitive. Semedo isn't as effective because he's poor with the ball at his feet, we need a midfield who can tackle, pass and get forward. I think Lines has those qualities, not sure about McCabe had a poor game today, but he certainly had potential. Wish we still had Barkley, him and Lines in midfield would have been a great partnership.
edinburghowl
I agree about Lines and McCabe for the next game, and I also think Semedo is a very limited footballer. He was dreadful today.
Mr. Chow
too defensive, ran in circles today.
malek
Cant understand that our player who gets ond the ball most is least comfortable on it ! Is there other team in division that plays such defensive specialist in their midfield that lacks any kind of creativity or goal treath ? It is buffling that at Cardiff Jones used McPhail in similar deep position, who couldnt defend, but moved ball really well.

Lee A
I'm with you Forevs. His work rate and ball winning skills are good enough in league 1, but in the championship, you have to be able to play football aswell. people are getting past Semedo now, regularly, I'm not saying get rid of him, but he certainly is not undroppable anymore. Jowl
An invitation to shoot forever? Who could resist? Semedo wasn't at his next today bit has been in a decent run of form.
Guest foreverSWFC
He's getting knocked off the ball more often in this league aswell, players are just as strong if not stronger than him in the Championship.
uptheowls
But replacing him with Mcabe is not the answer. Id love to see his pass completion rate today, terrible

I'll not shoot you down pal, loved the semedo day and as a person he's a terrific guy, but so far this season he's been patchy, Charlton told us what to expect and so far they are proving to be correct, sadly I don't think Semedo can cut it in this league. SiJ
A central midfield of McCabe and Lines will get ripped a new one. Talk about lightweight.

BRADDAZ
Start of season in a 4-4-2 Semedo was crap. Changed to 4-5-1, he was good. Back to 4-4-2, he's crap again. Hardly a surprise, he's not good enough on the ball for this level of football. Harsh, because I love the guy but you have to be honest. He's not good enough in a 2 man midfield. Lines & McCabe Tuesday please.
mattitheowl
With the players we have at our disposal we need 12 on the pitch at all times. That was shown by Jones playing 4-1-4-1 for so long. Desperate not to concede but bereft of any scoring ability. Our midfield was non-existant again today. Semedo looks like he has been tethered to the centre spot on a 10 yard length of rope, and he is so ponderous in possession. McCabe has a great eye for a pass but he is rather lightweight at times. And with the luxuries of JJ and Antonio we basically play with 2 in midfield. Just not bothered...
