Loan Watch Rides Again!

Recommended Posts

20th August

Macclesfield  0-1  Morecambe            (att:  1,862)

New boss for Macc, same place on the bench for Connor

He came on as part of a double substitution after 75mins with his side already trailing

But couldn't prevent Morecambe securing their first league win of the season

Obviously, we want to see him start games but there's plenty of time - he's there for the whole season

Well well, if Carlsberg did debuts ....

24th August

Ross County  1-4  Livingston            (att:  4,237)

Hardly surprising that Jack Stobbs' introduction to the SPL should come from the bench

But I doubt he thought he'd be coming on after only 29mins with his side already leading 3-0

And then, to top it all, he bags their fourth goal himself early in the second half

Amazing ... I bet he's buzzin

Meanwhile, back here in League2

Macclesfield  1-0  Scunthorpe           (att:  1,860)

Connor Kirby makes his customary late appearance off the bench (85mins) to help Macc return to winning ways

Hopefully, he'll have more to do midweek in the cup at Grimsby

Next up and it's over to Germany once again

Joost van Aken will probably feature for VfL at Nurnberg tomorrow

While we'll have to wait until Monday night to see if Matt Penney turns out for St Pauli home to our old friends Holstein Kiel

Reading this thread got me reminiscing about the old thread when we read with joy about the adventures of Bus and Sougou.

Bus is having a whale of a time having scored 4 in 6 for Gaz Metan.

Sougou is tearing up the Indian league with 12 goals in 18 for Mumbai City!

25 August

FC Nurnberg  1-0  VfL Osnabruck                (att:  27,083)

Second start for JvA and he apparently had a 1st half goal ruled out by VAR

Seemed to play well though

Until going off in the 75th minute - injured making a goalmouth clearance

The home side then broke the deadlock five mins later

Great stuff

I don't have BT - or Sky for that matter

I followed the Nurnberg-Osnabruck game on uk.soccerway via one of those live graphics thingies

That's how I was able to confirm some stuff and guess at others

Wasn't ideal though - and the missus thinks I'm crazy  (so what else is new?)
