Sheffield Wednesday are inviting fans of all ages to join in us in special half term and completely free WAWAW #SWFC150 Family Fun Day at Hillsborough.

The fun-packed event forms part of our 150th anniversary celebrations and takes place on Wednesday 11 April, when the Owls will host a raft of activities.

Taking part throughout the day will be special SWFC guests past and present, all of whom will welcome you to S6 as we throw open our doors to Wednesdayites!

From a 10.00am start, we have something for all the family, with fantastic prizes, funfair-style footie games, face painting and treasure hunts!

As well as visiting the dressing rooms and taking the tunnel to the field, every young Owl who registers for the treasure hunt will have the chance to see up close our first ever silverware in the shape of the original 1868 Cromwell Cup, together with replicas of the League Cup lifted by the Owls in 1991 and the promotion-winning trophies of 2005 and 2012.

The fun begins in the morning when the Wednesday Cricket Club - forefathers of the football club we all know and love today - will run activities in the SWFC Education Centre.

Attention will then turn to the pitch as mini tournaments take centre stage, during which youth teams, the Wednesday Ladies, affiliated community teams plus fans and staff prepare for the main event!

Naturally, Ozzie and Barney will be on hand to oversee fair play at all times!

We have much, much more to tell you on the WAWAW #150 Family Fun Day but for now, make a date in the diary…. Wednesday 11 April and a blue and white day to remember.

We will see you all there!

Is the Treasure hunt to see who can find our injured players. ?

Start a pole we have as many fans not from Sheffield as we do from Sheffield. I myself live in Sheffield, but i know a lot of Rotherham and Chesterfield based Owls. There is also Owls in the Birmingham area and other areas.

To eliminate all of these because they don't live in Sheffield is completely wrong when holding the event at a week end would allow all to go.

That's OK then.

Brum have the same easter holidays as Sheffield.lol

It's the same people every time having a pop at fans for having a legitimate concern. Or perhaps only those that live within a certain radius are TrueFans?

You, Ash, Bigthinrob and a few others seem to live to shout down anyone who dares to question anything the club does.

Good grief man get a grip & listen to what you’re saying!

It’s a “kids fun day” held in the local school holidays, not Owls in the Park !

what have the club actually done wrong???

Even though i live in Norway I sent the club an email about the different end times for easter break around Yorkshire and the response I got was that the date's been chosen because the week before would not allow for enough time for pitch to recover before home match v Fulham on the 7th.

Yes true. But also knows as SHEFFIELD Wednesday since the early days.

I was being a bit faceitious

It is a point SWFC have always had a bigger catchment area than just Sheffield. But for events like this you have to gear towards the local kids.

It is geared towards the local kids. Majority of our fans will be able to attend.

All Sheffield schools are off..by the way this is the first school year in over 20 years that Sheffield and Rotherham have different weeks

Exactly. Most people think all schools are off same time.

Just another excuse for certain fans to slate the club with.

I find these kind of statements disappointing

You're better than that

Not sure why you can't engage maturely without those kind of statements

Ahh yes, like your Nuhiu thread you mean?

I’ll bow out of this thread on that note, my work is done here

I find it weird that you come onto a discussion forum to try and suppress discussion

It's bizarre that you bother and even weirder that you see it as your 'work' to do so

Not trying to suppress discussion, just offer balance against the moronic attacks on it from the same names.

I don't see it as my work, i used the phrase because it would appear the majority agree with me. People are waking up to the same posters attacking the club and you encouraging it.

Why don't you, room305 and manwith should put on your own event which is inclusive of all? Good luck with it
