Start a pole we have as many fans not from Sheffield as we do from Sheffield. I myself live in Sheffield, but i know a lot of Rotherham and Chesterfield based Owls. There is also Owls in The Birmingham area and other areas.

To eliminate all of these because they don't live in Sheffield is completely wrong when holding the event at a week end would allow all to go.

They should have had it on a Sunday, no prombles then, oh wait then we would have a minority moaning that they can't go as they have to attend church, car boot sales, Sunday markets, the in-laws, B&Q with the wife, the local garden centre, The National Railway Museum, the pub, dogging meet, etc, etc

Or could have had it this Saturday when we have no game because of an international break, it not like the club don't know the international break week end 2 years in advance or anything :tango:

Easter hols don't even coincide with Easter next year, so they'll get another 2 bonus days off. Don't take your kids out of school for a holiday though folks, they'll be irreparably damaged!

So Good Friday and Easter Monday won't be at Easter next year ? lol

So all Owls fans live in Sheffield and no one who supports our club live outside Sheffield so what I am saying is wrong.

OR

By not taking account of when Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and other places are off school any fan or kids who do not live, work and go to school in Sheffield will not be able to attend. Are you still with me or have I lost you again

No, what you said was quote "NO school kids will be able to attend" when in fact pretty much EVERY school kid in Sheffield will be able to attend.

Except the 51 Academy's in Sheffield which are not following the council guidelines?

The summer holidays are therefore shorter to ensure the exact amount of school days remains the same as previously.

There will always be 195 days of school per year, with 5 being allocated for training and development.

Oh look all the same names moaning and attacking the club for not other reason than they want to.

It coincides with the Sheffield school holidays. Has anyone thought to check with all London boroughs for the London owls?

There were over 1200 responses to the consultation with the overwhelming majority (71%) of respondents preferring Option 2 which fixes the Easter Break in the first 2 weeks of April.

Of those stakeholders that responded in support of Option 2:

  • 69% of all parent responses
  • 85% of all Head Teachers/Principals
  • 76% of all teaching staff
  • 71% of all non-teaching staff
  • 77% of all Governors

The Calendar applies to all Community Schools, Voluntary Controlled Schools and Community Special Schools.

Voluntary Aided Schools, Foundation Schools, Trusts and Academies are free to set their own calendar but are asked to adopt our model for consistency.

Basically the Easter holiday in Sheffield will now be fixed as the first 2 weeks in April. A majority of head teachers voted in favour of this so it follows that most of the academies will, as the council asks, 'adopt our model for consistency'.

More nonsense from you. I wouldn't expect them to check London, no. Or Cornwall, Scotland, Norfolk etc.

Rotherham, Chesterfield and Barnsley? Yes, absolutely.
