Graham Kavanagh

Kavanagh was in the twilight of his career when he came and only played a few games but he stood out as being a class above anything we had at the time

Never played a competitive first team game for us.

I remember being really excited that we'd signed the England under 21 keeper, then for some reason we also signed another keeper I'd never heard of. Martin who? The rest is history.

Didn't he play a preseason friendly and have an absolute stinker?

yeah, loved him when he came too far off his line at Anfield, and Imre scored from a tight angle.

Remember it well. Was there that day and night game in cup against them.

Who's that bloke who played a few years ago and was mostly injured?

Midfielder, came from Ipswich, good at pens.

(he once scored a goal and used the corner flag as a snooker cue to celebrate.)

Miller…

Chris Carr?

Correct!

Only played once for Wednesday, the last game of the 2003-04 season when QPR beat us 3-1 at Hillsborough and got promoted.

Another player who will be forgotten by many, but scored our goal that day is Jon Shaw.

Didn't know he'd only played that one game, but I'm pretty sure he sliced in an own goal?

Came on at HT and scored the o.g. midway through the second half according to Transfermarkt

Also wasn't his only appearance, he apparently came on as sub in the 90th minute at Luton, one of what seems like many games where we were 2-0 up and lost 3-2.  The fact that their winner also came in injury time may not be purely coincidental!
