0114
We've been playing the exact same since the beginning of the season when the pitch was fine.
neo hippy
we've used sand to cover any problems for years now, this has now resulted in the pitch resembling a beach. ever tried to run a on beach? it's even worse when its wet. you just cant get going as quickly so cant play a high tempo game. players cant get up and down the pitch so you end up with neither team going anywhere. our best threat was jezza running direct with the ball, but unfortunately no one on our side can keep up with him either and the move fizzles out. the bobbles on the pitch certainly don't help and the cold weather is factor too but the problem lies mainly in the energy sapping beach
asteener1867
The pitch is poor..in fact it has deteriorated in the last month or so...While it may not have a bearing on how good the team is, it certainly had a bearing on how the team play. It was bloody horrendous second half yesterday, you only had to watch Helan try to get down the left..it was bobbling all over the place, more than once... about 10 players on at half time making it worse..watering the fookin' thing..making it worse, then complaining about it? can't be rocket science to sort it out surely?..Its only f.ookin' gardening! prowl
If the pitch is worse when it's wet why on earth were they watering it just before the game. I thought it might be a devious strategy to stop the opposition from playing football. It sounds like it stopped us playing.
trevdi9
they would be fecked in the old days with leather break your toe casies and pit boots with studs in they would even struggle in dry weather our lot , Edited January 28, 2015 by trevdi9
steelowl
they would be fecked in the old days with leather break your toe casies and pit boots with studs in they would even struggle in dry weather our lot , that's a good point trev the pitch looked relatively fantastic compared to some in the 60/70/80s ok with these beach balls they bobble a bit
torres
So we can add the pitch to list of stuff neglected under Milan's tenure The list is getting bigger by the week!!!
Mountain Owl
Was there last night but obviously got there after the pitch had been watered. Could,nt believe it when i was told the taps had been turned on. How can watering make it better?
Guest timrud
One theory is the pitch was fed too much early on causing it not to root deep enough
