Guest markg14061965
Is this when Norwich got promoted and we beat them 2-1, if so and the gent you were talking of attempted to head the ball as Gary Bannister netted the winner at the kop end. It was a chap called Craig Wilson.

PortlandOwl
God I remember that match. I was sat in South Stand near the kop and thought at the time that if Bannister had somehow missed, then that bloke would have stuck it in!! From memory we won 2-0 but Norwich brought thousands and still went up. Remember being on the pitch at the end goading the Norwich fans. Happy days. owls4effa
what a ***. Could & should have been a disallowed goal. wonder what would have happened if it had cost Norwich promotion.
fatzooma
Wasn't the attendance something ridiculously low like 21000 when there was quite clearly about 35000?
Neal M
First season with three points for a win. Under the old system, our 20 wins and 10 draws would have seen us promoted on 50 points. Norwich had 22 wins and 5 draws and would have ended up on 49 points. I move a lot of concrete on the QVC.
