POWP
by population we're third behind brum and leeds (4th if you want to throw in london, but I never do consider it as it holds 2 cities and many towns within it). When it comes to regions and metropolitan/urban areas etc. we're about 9th and by density we're way down.

hypnosisman
The city of Leeds is not bigger than Sheffield. Rotherham borough has a population of 250K, but Rotherham is really only 120K ish. Same with Leeds the Metropolitan borough is 750K, but the city is nearer to 500K. Only the cities of Birmingham and London are bigger English cities. Manchester and Liverpool cities are definitely smaller than Sheffield. P.S. Manchester United isn't even in Manchester.

London isn't bigger, its the smallest capital city in Europe, approx 1sq mile, most of "London" is made up of other Cities and towns as per your Man U thing, well the Houses of Parliament aren't even in London Edited July 4, 2014 by scarboro-owl
