Song Thread - Time To Make A Difference

Recommended Posts

Just to simplify things, for our impending trip to the den of iniquity that is Elland Road, how about (to the tune of Quartermaster's Stores):

They've got no mates

Cos everybody hates

Dirty Leeds, Dirty Leeds!

We're going to sing this tomorrow for a while, hope it catches on Eaton. Hoping to influence the band into playing it  as well.

Lyrics please for anyone wanting to join in?

I still don't get how this song goes, I know the tune and everything but I don't understand the (oh we got four) and the (then in twenty twelve) bit?

Check out link to FC United singing this and all should become clear (40 seconds in - post 113 in this thread).

Sing Wednesday words in bold instead of  FC United ones in brackets

We beat ‘em at Wem-ber-lee (So hoist up the John B's sail)

Two-One back in Ninety-Three (see how the main sail sets)

On Boxing Day in Seventy-Nine we got four (call for the Captain ashore, let me go home)

Then in Twenty-Twelve (I wanna go home)

We met back down in League One (I wanna go hoooome)

And just like back then (this is the worst trip)

We beat ‘em again! (I've ever been on)

I'll try and remember that and join in if I hear you. Sounded good on YouTube clips.

Danny Pugh, Danny Pugh

Running down the wing

Beats his man, whips it in

And that is why we sing

Brings us the ball, Gives us a goal

Danny Pugh, Danny Pugh, Danny Pugh

To the tune of Robin Hood

by far the best suggestion.

Hope this catches on. If done correctly, not overpowering by the band at first, and built up slowly we could be on to a winner.

Makes a change to have a good song that doesnt refer to another team and focuses the support on our own club for a change.

Sounded great in the second half. Loved how more and more people joined in. People we singing it after the final whistle and outside the stadium after the game.

Think this one is definitley going to catch on.

I'd love a Wednesday rendition of "Blue Sea of Ibrox".

I've Sailed The Wild Atlantic Crossed The Proud Pacific Shore
Ive Sailed Around The Stormy Capes And Heard The Fattys Roar
Ive Flied The Indian Ocean Ive Sailed The China Sea
But Theres A Sea Back Home In England More Than All The Rest To
Me

Chorus
It's The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Hillsborough (Sea Of Hillsborough)
It's The Greatest Site That I've Ever Seen (Ever Seen)
It's The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Hillsborough (Sea Of Hillsborough)
And Its Part Of Every Wednesday Players Dream.

No More Ive Sailed The Seven Seas No More Ill Ever Rung
No More Ill Feel The Urge Again Im Back Where I Belong
At Three O'clock Each Saturday Ill Join The Magic Rung
With Flags And Banners All Around Ill Proudly Sing This Song

You can have the honors of starting it next game to Forest Eaton.

Good suggestion btw, sounded good I thought.

There will be plenty of us singing it before anyone else does against Florist, trust me.

This song has stuck.

Sounds good but without it being played on the tannoy before the game I can't see it happening. Too long and complicated. People were still singing the O'Grady chant in different ways after we'd had him 2 years! That's just my opinion of course.

Keep the suggestions coming though :)
