Jones can't be given another transfer window

Jones will be given time.

Threads like this are a waste a time.

Waste of time or not, that's not the issue.

Results and points are the main issue.

At most, DJ should be given till Christmas.

For the reason, we've got some important 6 pointers coming up against lower half teams.

Lose them or get hardly any points from now till Christmas and we'll almost certainly be bottom by the time the transfer window reopens.

Unless DJ can turn it around quickly, against the teams in and around us and pick up some points before January, then MM will have no other choice or else well be bottom, adrift and going back down! :st2:

I really do wish ppl would feck off with all the Megson crap. He built a team for league 1, slagged them off on many occasions (telling us all that they couldn't play fancy football, constantly moaned that he wasn't being given enough money to spend and was on the slide before the blunts game. Ppl hold him up like a messiah because he's a Wednesday fan. He gave us all the crap that, he hasn't even looked at his contract and he doesn't even know how much he gets paid cos it's Wednesday and the money doesn't matter. Well if he's that much of a fan and messiah then why doesn't he waive his right to the money he's getting paid for sitting on his arse. I'm sure the money would come in handy to bring a player in or 2. Ffs he'd not even been to watch the team he loves for years

Sooner or later for the good of our club, DJ will have to go. Just like Irvine and Megson had to go, for the best. Even Brian Laws did better, with a far poorer squad in the Championship, than what DJ has got at his disposal. It's excuse after excuse, DJ had a good record just like Megson but football moves on. Football is a results business and atm we're heading back down. DJ out!

Thread title should be changed to Aldric shouldn't be given another transfer window...

Seriosuly though how many have they not fragged up since they arrived? Or are names such as Reynolds and Michael Morrison banned on here?!

Players need to be recruited for footballing reasons, not just for their investment potential. £800k for Madine after his first career purple patch?! Who said Milan was risk averse...

If Jones goes his replacement will be Millan's forth manager in three years. Maybe someone else is part of the problem.

I wish the DJ huggers would simply put themselves in MM's shoes for a minute. You've witnessed your manager sign 15 players in the close season and we are looking increasingly like relegation fodder and many of these signings are nowhere near the 1st team. Then he comes to you in January for another wedge of cash to buy some MORE players. Honestly, what would YOU say?

Sorry pal, I thought I could do this on the cheap. Here's some proper dollar, now go and buy us a couple of quality larkers.

Outside of the circa £700k committed to Antonio (maybe not all up front), I wonder what the reaction on Owlstalk would have been this summer if we would have known that the manager was required to bring in a dozen players or more and was being given something like half a million quid with which to do it?

Not only that, but a considerable number of the resident experts were gushing about a lot of these signings that they are now dismissing as terrible. Anyone would think they were just blagging it.

This is so true. Irritates the hell out of me.

Just give the guy a decent amount of time.

Sacking manager after manager has served us so well over the years!!!!!!

We never learn!

I think I'm the only one who is seriously questioning Dave Jones' for his coaching techniques & tactics, and not in his signings.

Let's face it, Dave Jones won't have personally scouted and persisted with the signatures of all our summer signings. And I think most of our signings are good Championship players that should be at a mid-tabled team, easily. The likes of Kirkland, Rodri, Pecnik, Bothroyd, Taylor, Gardener, Barkley & Maguire have all played enough football at Championship (or higher) level to be good signings for a club like us in our position.

But his tactics, decision making & general man-management has been shocking. I question whether better players would improve our consistency, which is what we need to survive, or a different (arguably better) manager would get the best out of our current players.
