Guest doddicus Posted January 21, 2010 Share Posted January 21, 2010 I remember that we were rumoured to be signing Oyvind Leonardson when he was at Wimbledon before he ultimately signed for Liverpool sometime in the 90's. I was gutted when he didn't join us as I thought he was a fantastic player. I also used to work in a pub and regularly got told that a car was prepared at Gilders with Matt Le Tissier's name sprayed on it and someone had seen him walking out of Hillsborough! Le Tissier was very close to signing but it wasnt Gilders, it was Montys Motors at Oughtibridge that had a Toyota Corolla that had his name on...i actually saw this car when i was a lad delivering newspapers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wasn't the Beckham bid a joint one for him and Scholes at 4 million? If we are talking about football in the pub (coz we are lads and that) then a players name crops up and it's "Arsenal wanted to sign him" oh how we laugh.
