Public Service Announcement: The Transfer Silly Season

It is that time of year again, the time of transfer speculation, the time of excitement, concern, hopefulness. The time of rumour is afoot. Some rumours are better than others, but some general rules/guidelines for all. Follow these, you won't look a fool. You won't unnecessarily worry people for 10 seconds while they wait for a webpage to load. You'll be a better person

-Twitter accounts that follow fewer than 100 people or have fewer than 100 followers are not good sources.

Exhibit A of a terrible, terrible source: https://twitter.com/TheFLTaIk

-Twitter accounts are essentially never reliable. Take everything said with a pinch of salt

-If you're on Google Chrome, right click on a twitter profile picture and click 'Search Google for image'. It allows you to find the identity of the person they've used in the profile picture... this is especially useful for accounts claiming to be belonging to journalists... very often you'll find they're using the picture of a lawyer or some other obscure public figure

-HITC is a website to be ignored and laughed at. Nothing else.

-If there is a transfer rumour, pop it in the transfer thread. By all means, make another thread dedicated to it too as it tends to get lost in all the excitement. However, title it appropriately. For example, "Lionel Messi" on its own gives people hope that we may have signed him, "Rumours about Lionel Messi" is much better

-Use your brains and don't be a twát

Have fun you crazy diamonds lol

Booooooooooo! Don't spoil the annual summer transfer fun!

The more obscure Eastern European wingers we can scout on Football Manager; the more 'ITK' posters who make up rumours so outrageous only a child would fall for them; the more grainy YouTube videos of French second division striking prodigies set to a Eurodance backing track we can sit through, the better.

Disengage your brains and be massive twåts; it's the only way to make it through the long summer months ahead...

The worst part is that I've already looked through one grainy YouTube video of a French second division striker today. I wish I was joking.

I have an exam on Wednesday ffs  :ghoulguy:
