Sheffield Wednesday manager predicts "Paterson could get us 10 to 15 goals from midfield"

I know he played yesterday - but I couldn't really tell you where

I thought it was really obvious yesterday. He played CM.

Thought it was his best game for a month or so, but still a 6/10 or 7/10 max.

Since he got 11 in a season playing for Hearts at right back - then 10 in his first season with Cardiff playing in midfield - it hardly seems a ridiculous thing for Pulis to say.

Then again, you were desperate for him to fail before he even arrived.

Why you turning it personal?

You could have just made your point with your first sentence and left it there?

He played a bit better yesterday but still looks 2 stone overweight and his long throws are not worth doing.

But, he ain't skilful or technical enough to play cm and he isn't mobile enough to be a striker.

Let's give him a blast at RB and put Palmer at LB.

I agree with that

Palmer did well at LB last season. Hutch can also play RB

They never do

But delete their personal attacks and they scream blue murder

I saw someone accuse another poster yesterday of being a 'xenophobic troll'

Thats pretty serious accusation to be fair. No apology, no retraction. The person accused asked him to produce evidence of xenophobia - and again no reply.

Its getting ridiculous

Maybe for fairness to Paterson we should have 3 more threads in addition to the "Paterson should have taken one for the team "

1. Joey Should  have taken one for the team.

2. Bazza should have taken one for the team

3. Tom (Lees) should have taken one for the team.

Absolutely

I said after the game - if any one of those 4 players had just put in a tackle (not even a foul) we could have come away with 3 points yesterday

Not a personal dig here but a statement of what I keep noticing.

You look at all the good teams, when defending they close down players before the opposition player receives the ball. Creating pressure which leads to mistakes

I notice we wait, until the opposition player comfortably receives the ball, before making a half hearted attempt to close them down.

It's a different level of fitness. We haven't seen it too often over recent years

I thought we tried to do that yesterday

Soon as the ball went towards their player one of ours would run towards them as fast as possible

They didn't really get there or do anything when or if they did, but they were definitely really trying yesterday to pressure the opposition

We did try but...we need some pace up front. As willing as Windass is he can't press their defenders on his own

I didn't see the game yesterday but hopefully its a trait Pulis is trying to install into the team

It was the first time it was really noticeable to be fair mate

I'd not seen that level of pressure under Pulis before

The players were going gung-ho for any of their players who were about to get the ball

Was good to see but not sure how long it can be kept up as the games come thick and fast
