Big mistake. Good players don’t always make good managers.

Not likely to be taking the job permanently according to reports and the it would have been the youth development manager taking caretaker charge, not Scholes, but he is currently isolating.

Still a strange decision to part company with Alexander, currently in the top 6 with 9 points from 5 games. Apparently the style of play has been cited as a reason.

Think Alexander walked after a disagreement.

Aye, he wouldn't let Giggs sleep with his wife.

Have always respected Neville as a pundit and tv personality, but can't help but feel he's exposed his true colours in the last week.

He's a very vocal supporter of project power grab.

It's easy to criticise the EPL suggestion as a fan of a team who have ambitions of getting to the EPL and feel it's not that far away. But for teams in league 2 who have literally no chance (or even ambition) of getting there, why would they not support it?  It offers a lifeline they otherwise don't have.

Of course he is, it would give Salford a financial boost for a season or two and is the best chance Man Utd have of winning the league again.

By all accounts Scholes' appointment is temporary. They have their eyes 👀 set on a more experienced manager. Just biding their time untill it can come to fruition.

The waiting game ! ! !

Salford appointed Richie Wellens yesterday after compensation was agreed with Swindon Town.
