To be absolutely fair to Claude it wasn't all his fault.

They hooked him at half time, so he can only be blamed for the first 4.

To be absolutely fair to Claude ...

New England were down to nine men before the 3rd goal went in (2 red cards)

Two of those 1st half goals were penalties and the fourth was scored in the 47th minute

Their coach probably felt he needed to shake things up at half time

to be fair I'd walk round with a swagger if I could afford to shop in Waitrose

It's awful. Last week they had no organic brie and only 4 ply lavatory paper. Tarquin was inconsolable regarding the brie.

I have mentioned this before but I walked past him once in the soft cheese section at Waitrose, bottom of Eccy Road. Jeans around his ankles, shades on and big headphones. Big cap as well, the type that looks too big, but is probably cool.

Walking like Max Wall with gout. Hand basket, not trolley, so probably not a big shop. I didn't hang around to look in the trolley as I had to get back. Kids wanted hoops with their nuggets.

He was head banging, gently, as he picked up some black pepper Philadelphia. He gave me the impression he thought he'd won 600 caps for France, and the Balon D'or twice. He had that kind of swagger. In reality, I think at the time that Martin Taylor was keeping him out of the team.

"Max Wall with gout".

I can see that picture.

Chucklesome.
