Chris E
Needs to be improved. With 12 home games remaining, presuming our home form stays good, a conservative estimate on that of 2 points per game could get us to 60 points. How many more points than that we get will be on the away form. If we can improve that then we're in good shape.
The Night-Owl
Aye away form needs picking up and need to break out of the habit of starting games slowly too. Despite that we are still in touch and not far off the top six, although there is a step up in class between the top five and the rest. If we can bring in three or four quality players in during the January transfer window and pick up our away form then we could break into the top six. The current squad is just short of top six in quality and depth, as well as League position. That said, there's plenty to be optimistic about and the future is bright for Wednesday under DC. If we don't quite make it this season, we should be capable of having a good go next season.
Stoop
Amazing to think we won 10 away last season
PeteG_1984
It is a bit of a worry that we seen to dominate teams at home with loads of chances and it's completely different away. I know we played okay second half yesterday but the first half, MK Dons etc are happening all too regularly
MartinOwlMan
Playing in black shirts doesn't help - it makes it more difficult to pick out a pass to a team mate.
The Night-Owl
We seemed more set up to play away from home last season. Difficult to break down, solid and hitting teams on the break. This season its a complete reversal. Strong at home, taking games to teams and playing exciting possession football at home but falling short away from home. If we could replicate some of our home form, away from home we'd be right up there. Its amazing how consistent you have to be to get right up there. I'm just happy we're in the hunt for once, its a far cry from all the miserable relegation battles and mid table slogs of previous recent years. Rogerwyldesmullet
The solution is obvious. Bring back SG as "away coach" Carlos as "home coach" Big Ron as "cup coach" And as fitness coach in the absence of T Toms PS sorry I erroneously originally posted this on the wrong thread Edited December 29, 2015 by Rogerwyldesmullet
Lord Snooty
Think last seasons away form can be explained in the same sentence as last years home form. We were a full on defence minded team. It worked on the road. But not at home where thee opposition played the same game as us. Those stalemates which drove us to madness. This season we have been given licence at home. An expression of freedom. To then go on the road and try and play tight every other week is clearly a bit alien. Add into the mix that we have 4 full backs who are all better at going forward than defending. A midfield which (when missing Hutchinson) has more flair than we have seen for many a season, then the idea of us keeping things tight isn't as realistic as it was last season. Or something. joelswfc
Play two strikers away from home, try and play as we do at Hillsborough
coreyswfc
Dont be negative away from home. Let the opposites worry about us for a change.
Lord Snooty
Time to stop wearing the away kit needlessly when we're on the road. When we play teams in red then we should pack our blue and white stripes in the kit hamper. Like today at Fulham. I don't see any problem with packing the kit and just taking some spare shorts. There's too much fannying these days and the Gods of football have been showing their displeasure by blighting our away form.
SiJ
Need to start better. Can't keep conceding goals and then playing.
BRUCE LEE
Majority of the poor away performances have involved Sougou, Palmer, Semedo and Nuhiu There's just too big a gulf between those and the 4 they replace (Wallace, Hunt, Hutchinson and Joao) I don't mind rotating the squad but we need to improve our bench if we're to maintain the high performance levels
