Carlos Invites You.................

Recommended Posts

The Sheffield Wednesday head coach, Carlos Carvalhal
Invites you, one and all, to the carnival
Come and help fulfill the dream
By getting behind his brand new team
There's lots of optimism now, down at Sheffield six
With the hope that his and our dreams he can fix
Chansiri's money seems to be well spent
And the fans for the most part seem content
There's a different feeling now around the place
People walking about with a smile on their face
Gone now is the countenance of a constant frown
They're now looking up instead of down
Everybody seems to be walking tall
We have now got players who look good on the ball
Players with courage, grit and skill
Players whith a liking to entertain and  thrill
Players on the bench with notable names
Who can come on as a sub and change a game
Of course there are those who'll pour cold water on anything new
And I often ask myself whether they are really "True Blue"
I'll be quite honest,at the outset and with good reason
I thought that "The Wednesday" would struggle this season
All those new players in the side
An unheard of head coach in Britain, yet untried
"Who's Carvalhal and what's wrong with Stuart Gray?
And how will a committee improve the way that we play?
How could all of these players gel together
And how would the foreign players cope with our cold weather
Maybe the management has lost leave of its senses
Going to extremes of all these extra expenses
It goes against all that we dour Yorkshire folk have been taught
Spending lots of money will it just amount to naught!!!
But for a club that, a short time ago, looked to be on its way out
We've developed into an outfit that appears to have plenty of clout
Where once we were viewed with scorn and derision
We could probably, now, turn out two teams that would do well in this division
So! though it's early days, let's hope we can keep on the right track
And in the words of the song ,hope, ......................................................
" SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY ARE ON THEIR WAY BACK!!!"

P.S. To the powers that be,
Now that we've got a team of which we can be proud
I think it's time we attempted to encourage a bigger crowd
This is something all true Wednesdayites have long since been yearning
But in these austere times, money's not a commodity that holes in pockets has been burning
Like all true supporters they realise at the end of the day
Money taken at the turnstiles will never pay the way
So when they are faced with the ever rising cost
More and more supporters to the game are lost
They're referred to as the 12th man and when they're on full song
There can be no denying they can really help the team along
Why not try dropping entry prices? with more fans we might then realize
With all the extra backing we might then achieve the ultimate prize
OK I'll admit my submission leaves reason for doubt
But with enough extra fans in, costs might then cancel each other out
There are no guarantees in football but extra fans could give us a lift
Thus helping us to achieve the "Premiership" gift
And then with even higher attendances
You could then, if you chose, write off all your expenses
So what do you think of my suggestion, is it pie in the sky?
You'll never know till you give it a try!!!

I'm abit worried about Carlos

Where's he going for Christmas dinner?

His wife and kids are in Portugal and he lives on his own in a flat in the city centre

Don't worry mate, he's coming to mine. Having Piri Piri Turkey to make him feel at home.
