Two reasons spring directly to mind - the influence of Television, with games being scheduled for best viewing times at the expense of the supporters, with examples of even big games being scheduled to finish after the departure of the last public transport. The other is the influence of the local police, as in the case of the Leeds - Wednesday game last season. The last people to be considered are the loyal fans.
