Guest Gazzaswfc
Thought they complemented each other back in the day Shelton was a workhorse & unsung hero megson had decent ability from set pieces & chipped in with goals was a good central midfield but not in the class of a Sheridan /palmer combination for me the best we've had in my time

HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
Don't think Shelton was unsung He was a lot of people's favourite, including mine. Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

Inspector Lestrade
both good players and showed that there was more to wilko´s team than the perceived hoofing reputation his side had . Agree 100% there. Both excellent players and could play hoof and on the floor. Never shirked a tackle and gave their all.

dorian gray
both good players and showed that there was more to wilko´s team than the perceived hoofing reputation his side had . the 'hoofing' label was attached by sides who 'normally' expected to have wednesday's number easily enough... but in those unpleasant days they were having their noses bloodied, frequently, and on their own grounds too... the 'hoofing' label stuck, and some of our own support were duped into believing that if we got rid of some effort, and replaced it with true footballers, we'd be a much better side... it's not news that wilkinson went on to win the title with l**ds, the last englishman to do so... no one can argue either that atkinson's side didn't flower, it did, however over a period of time replacing hard graft with less effort and fancydanism doesn't pay dividends... too much emphasis on icing and not enough cake to sustain it... and under wilson we were shamed out of the division almost without a murmur... todwick owl
Gary Shelton was my favourite player as a young un, because he used to put a smiley face in his autograph :)
