Bigger Guns
Tudgay and burton had a quality partnership. They just seemed to know each other's game inside out from day 1.
Guest Gazzaswfc
Remember them both in a win at wolves they were both unplayable
SallyCinnamon
Clicked just like that. Two very underrated players for us.
Geörge Whitebread
And neither particularly good on their own. Just very good together.
TrickyTrev
They'd both walk into our side now.

SallyCinnamon
They'd both walk into our side now. They would. Burton was so clever, he could chest anything and won free kicks all the time. Tudgay was basically a defender for us as well- the amount of headers out from corners he won.
alanharper
As partnerships go, there were none finer in my lifetime than Hirst and Williams. Bannister and Varadi were also unplayable at times.
BIG D
Burton was a bit of a waster really. So much ability and Should have had a far better career then he did.
F. Spiksley
They'd both walk into our side now. No they wouldn't. Tudders is at Coventry doing ok but not the player he was five or six tears ago. Burton, no chance.
F. Spiksley
I did like Deon's song though! Quality.
Wolfmanjack
How very strange. Burton's goal scoring record for us was really pretty atrocious, and Tudgay only scored double figures in one season, while with us. Nuhiu is not able to skip around like Tudgay did, because he's about a foot taller and four stones heavier, but I'd say is a far better footballer, skill wise, than Tudgay could ever hope to be. Nuhiu has already scored nine goals this season, so the odds are he's going to equal Tudgay's best ever tally for us. If Nuhiu stays with us for five seasons and makes almost two hundred appearances, I'd back him to score more than the forty eight goals Tudgay scored for us. You can't argue that Stevie May hasn't set the world alight, but give him the same number of games as Tudgay or Burton played, and again I'd back him to score more goals than either of them. This Burton and Tudgay love in reminds me of the old adage, "The older I get, the better I was", because you could never actually accuse either of them as being brilliant. Between them, in a total of 306 appearances they scored 72 goals. Two strikers, 306 appearances, 72 goals, outstanding. Not.

Especially Burton.
dumboldowl
The two Davids ( Layne and Hirst ) were my best pairing. As Dan has just said "the older I get, the better I get.

Guest TommyTank
Id probably say they were our best modern day front 2, when I say modern day Im talking since the Carbone/Di Canio prem days. Deon and Tuggy were good together don't get me wrong but I remember the Burnley game at Hillsborough, we had Tudgay wide right and Akpo and Deon up top. We murdered them and looked so good going forward, Akpo was on fire until he broke down chasing a through ball. He was never the same after that. That 3 really clicked and I was devestated with Akpos injury.
JoshTheOwl
Akpo Sodjie. Jesus we've had them all haven't we. Remember the Burnley game when Clarke and Tudders were up front. Best I ever saw them play
Guest Gazzaswfc
The holy trinity Andy mac banno&curran was not a bad front 3 that clicked
Freshfish
Tudgay was very good...but asked to perform as an almost lone striker and ...and...run his bullocks off to be the best central defender we had against set pieces...he must have been so frustrated here ... wasted talent IMHO
