Absolute bargain you name me another striker who you could buy for 500k who's as good as fryatt As for he's free in 3 months can you guarantee he will come here ? Can you guarantee that without a proven striker which we all no we need we will not be relegated

Guest Big Guns
Because borrowing money and spending it did us the world of good in the late 90's.500k you think that would send us under is that a lot to spend on a proven striker we payed more for madine
BRADDAZ
500k you think that would send us under is that a lot to spend on a proven striker we payed more for madineIt's not just £500k though is it?Transfer fee, signing on fee, deal to pay his current wage difference, contract length & wages here, bonuses, agents fees, insurances etc. Then you have your current wage structure and budget. etc. But yes, it's just £500k. That guarantees success. Yes, that player may never get injured. We do not have an owner who can simply gift us over a million to buy Matt Fryatt. Not when there are other circumstances to consider like we're seeing now with our injury crises and having to sign more players to cover (just one example) But yes, let's just buy a striker (who we can't afford). SPEND SPEND SPEND. Mental. Edited February 12, 2014 by BRADDAZ
Guest Sheff Owl
I would just like to make a point we knew we was desperate for a striker since last season and who was the manager? So the summer approaches and we have doubts surrounding the futures of Maguire and Madine, one not in favour and the other off the field issues. So we sign Nuhiu and inexperienced player in english football and have a back up player in Lavery who i don't think anyone thinks would be ready. Yet what did Dave Jones do to sort this problem out? Obviously Milan is the man with the money but Dave Jones neglected the striker situation badly. It's beyond awful going in to a season with Maguire (not in favour), Madine (could be going to prison), Nuhiu (new to english football) and Lavery (not ready for the first team). RichSheffWeds
In no other walk of life or business would you get nobodies on an internet forum berating a businessman who put circa £20m into a business and telling him to invest more money which he's unlikely to ever see back. It was a big financial gamble by anyone to take on what was as good as a bankrupt loss making business and try to turn it around. Its pure ignorance. MM is not daft enough to keep pouring money into a black hole. He isn't a charitable institution. This guy has stepped up to the plate and put his money where his mouth is. Guest Mancunian_Owl
This is an absolutely mental thread, based on the fact we didnt score for the first time in like 8 games.... We have just gone on a 11 game unbeaten which has moved us 9 points clear of relegation. Mandaric should not have to spend anymore of his money, if you want the club to have more money feel free to donate your wages to SWFC and see how you feel about it.... And whilst I'm on it Sniper1 I see you going wrong negging everyone who speaks on one side of the subject and plussing everyone who critcises Mandaric, don't be a mardy because you got banned for swearing at people it's just childish. The term ignorance is always frustratingly incorrectly used None of us are ignorant - the sane ones know 500k for a striker who'd score goals is a bargain We spend less than League 1 sides, its a joke

Guest Big Guns
Like Antonio? Or Madine? That's exactly why spending the 4 or 500k on fryat is even stranger He spent more on unproven players than he's prepared to on a proven championship/ premiership striker that we desperately need Pure madness on milans part

No businessman in his right mind is going to put more money in at that point that he needs to. If MM was in this for the long term you may well have a point, but given the context of our position now, MM isn't going to spend £500k. It's ignorant and naive to think otherwise.
